Root Ruby 1.1.1 is out!

One more question. I keep my phone plugged in (the wall) when Im flashing. This to my knowledge is fine but just wondering about debugging. does it matter if its on or off? What problems might this cause either way:o

Its fine, i flash all the time with it plugged in and i always have debugging on.

Could some of you post screen shots of what each theme of 1.1.1 looks like?

Looks there there are a few and I would like to see what they look like before I try them.

you're right, I don't. I have unlimited data, haven't had a need for wifi yet. if that's the only problem I don't see it affecting many people. I do wish I could record in 720p tho :(

You can change the camcorder to 720p. It's under settings, choose "custom" ;)

Well I did try swiping side to side but didnt try up and down. Didnt think that the lock bar would of changed.... I let it sit there for a bit then it just rebooted so I thought its just buggy

it is there, just transparent. Swipe from left to right

I tried installing 1.1.1 Incognito (Red) last night and get a Dialer force close onslaught over the top of the setup wizard that you cannot bypass. I tried wiping data and cache and dalvik cache before and after etc..... never was able to get past it. :( Anybody else see this?

Tried installing 1.1.1 tonight withought much luck. The Google search widget would move to the top of the screen everytime you used it. The only way to get it back into place was to delete and re-add. Updating apps from the Market made the phone reboot. Got dialer force closes just like most everybody else. Back to SkyRaider 3.0 Vanilla I went.

I dont get all of the problems people are having with this rom. I have had exactly 0 problems. Maybe you installed through clockwork - read the wiki

Download the rom and gapps

reboot into recovery

wipe wipe wipe wipe...wipe data / wipe cache / wipe davlik

install rom

install gapps

Again thanks... I decided to go back to skyraider for now... My phone shut down on me in the middle of the night last night... I just happened to to check it randomly after I woke up ;) so I decided to re flash. I went to the braves game and flashed my phone twice whle I was there... sad I know but we SUCKED tonight against the cardnials... Whats a guy supposed to do? I bought my girl a Jersey and she was happy ...LOL

Maybe Ill try it that way in a few days. I had 0 issues with skyraider sense so Ill stick to that till ruby is ironed out. Believe me since I have tried out CM6 and ruby Im all about the aosp. I loved sense till I realized how nice it was without it. To each his/her own but the base line(Froyo) with mucho options without the interference (sense) is awesome. But the reliability is worth a bit.;)

My first time I couldnt get past the lock screen without it rebooting but the second time it went smooth.Of all places i reflashed at the game and got it to work fine. i thought the bar was abit plain but i did like the font on the rom. It covers everything including email and text. My first time flashing a theme (second try) but after about 3 hours my phone shut off so i went back to Skyraider:(.... As soon as this is straightened out Im all about it!)

That's the way I install any rom. There is a definite issue with wifi causing reboots or complete lock ups with Ruby and Cyanogen 6.x.x. With each one, I can do a fresh install and load just a handful of apps - and it seems great but will eventually freeze or reboot at some point. Coworker of mine had his reboot running Ruby within an hour. I leave wifi enabled all the time. My phone will never reboot with Virtuous or stock rom running the same apps and many more. It's a great rom, they just need to work out the remaining bugs. It's definitely not a stable release. It might be if you don't use wifi, but with not with wifi.

Gave Ruby another shot today when I wasn't so distracted. Everything seems to be working well except for GPS. Right now it's putting me about 5 miles to the east which is in the ocean. Google Nav doesn't work either, won't lock onto satellites. Already unchecked "Allow mock locations" and rebooted but still no luck. Can't go without my Google Nav.

I gave it a try again last night as well. I never tried navigation but the first thing I did try was the Bluetooth and it failed (calls worked but not music). Overall the Rom is looking pretty good but I have to have Bluetooth before I can set out for the day.

I didn't even try Bluetooth. The Nav was enough for me, but hearing that BT isn't working makes me glad that I switched back to SR Vanilla. Can't go for bike rides without my music and Bluetooth headphones.

Tried the Incognito theme too. Liked the hidden lock screen but the custom app icons and widgets didn't do much for me. Too dark, made it hard to see sometimes.

this might be out of topic, but here's a splash i made for the ruby......

enjoy!!!

Had a problem when I tried to install it with the accompanying Google Apps (even though I wiped, installed the ROM, then installed the gApps). For some reason, when I wiped, installed Ruby 1.1.1, then installed the gApps which came with CM6, it worked better (I got all the expected apps, and they work properly).

Now very pleased with this ROM!

Ruby has been the BEST rom I have run yet on the Dinc. Finally feel like we have a winnner here. I don't use Bluetooth headphones, so I can't comment here. I have great GPS with a quick lock, and have had ZERO reboot problems. I installed Adrynalyne's new kernal last night, and batt life is awesome. Super stable. I have Wifi on for about 50% of the time, no issues.

The only thing I don't recommend is the new King kernal - at least until it is fixed to not cook eggs

That is exactly what happens to me? Did you figure out how to get past it?

I tried incognito red also.

YES but the only way I could get it to boot was to boot to recovery and wipe then install Ruby 1.1.1, reboot , then boot back to recovery and install Gapps, then reboot, then boot back to recovery and install Incognito Red.

Booted fine after than and I do have to admit its pretty good looking but but the Bluetooth issue kills the whole Rom for me :(
