I would like to start off by saying this: I know this is probably not the correct thread area to be posting this in, but I have seen it more in the TU articles than any location. (Btw I'm working on 4 different roms and roots right now for friends)

Most of what I have seen has been specifically directed towards developers, about not getting things done. They do have lives outside of making your life more enjoyable. They have jobs and families, bills, priorities, what have you. They do not get paid for this, that I know of (which if they are, then it can't be by much).

So here is my request, if you are not satisfied with the results you are getting out of your phones devs, offer to help. Be it sending them donations, phones, offering to be a tester, anything that will help to move the process along.

Also I know I'm probably going to catch hell for posting this, but if it makes the great devs feel appreciated about the work they are doing, then I don't care.

Thanks directly go out to (sorry about bad spelling also if I miss your name I am sorry, pm and I will add you in)

I really don't believe your post is necessary or justified as the regulars here try and help out as much as they can by donating phones as well as making cash donations and most of us here including myself are willing to test new roms, but what ticks me off as you make a post about not contributing or showing appreciation, but you stated you’re working on 4 nonpublic roms which in my book isn't contributing anything. If I could give your post a dislike I would.

lol there are deff. some rude individuals here..but thats in any arena..if you wanna thank tu devs you shoulf pm them and express your gratitude..this thread is unnecessary.. while i agree with you...i dont agree with your making this thread bro

Just to clarify, when I said working on 4 roots and roms, I have no idea how to do any of the programming or script writting. I am rooting their phones with methods that are already on the forums here. Also I am testing a couple of roms for the devs on these phones.

So you went from "working on 4 different roms and roots" to "testing a couple of roms for the devs."

Interesting.

Everyone your starting to generate enough heat to start setting off fire alarms. Keep in mind there are no flames, but I feel the word 'yet' needs to be used.

Lets just let this thread go away on it's own.

Honestly I don't see why the thread was made. Please keep in mind that when someone feels they have probably broken their phone their decisions are irrational. (I see this all the time, and have done it, in car repair forums)

The only reason this thread is getting attention is because it was not made by a dev. They call this 'white knighting' and is generally frowned upon in other forums. The white knight is essentially saying the person can not defend themselves and it belittles the person. That is why it is frowned upon to being a bannable offense at other forums. We all know you meant good, but we should move on.

I appreciate the fact that he is calling out people for complaining too much as these guys do a lot for us and don't demand anything in return. Their reply's to rudeness is usually too kind. I give a 5 star, 2 thumbs up to the dev's here and I hope they know that they are appreciated for their hard work. As soon as i can financially, I will donate to them. If I ever seem to be rude or impatient I would hope someone catches it and let's me know as I would feel ashamed. Thanks also to mavrikmeerkat who I believe has done some dev work here also.

Interesting.

I took it to mean as he had clarified, working on installing 4 different roms for friends

Agreed let it fall to the wayside. lol I like the term white knighting. I don't think any offense was meant just a reminder to peeps that people here don't owe them anything. Its all done out of the goodness of their hearts and the strength of community.

I understood him to be saying " please be grateful and thankful, instead of pushing for quicker results". That is true, we all should think of it this way. As far as the " rom and root for friends " deal I took that for how it looked, installing roms and rooting phones for friends who may be techno incompatible. That would make him the average Joe just saying " Show them a little respect" which should be said every now and then. I love these Dev's for making my phone better and giving me a hobby.

The sentiment of this thread is appreciated, but it's unnecessary.

There's no place for rudeness or disrespect towards anyone here at Android Forums. Whether a member is a complete novice user or a seasoned developer, we expect them to be shown the same politeness. That's the way we like things here, and that's why we have such a varied and vibrant community.
