Rumor: Android 2.1 for samsung moment is on the 31th

I have a friend who knows a guy who's cousin's, sisters, mothers nephew who picks in the garbage at a abandoned Sprint store found a memo stating the following:

Due to the incredible demand and expectations of our current customer base we will be upgrading the Samsung Moment to our
SUPER SECRET VERSION
Android 3.8675309
This version of Android will be delivered OTA (over the air) by flying monkeys.
This version will carry with it many new features and add-ons such as
A newer version of the Bejeweled DEMO.
Complete with nag screen at every unlock.
Super Ultra Multi Touch.
So you can use all your fingers at once
Flash Ultra Non-functional Edition
Let's really bog this thing down

More to be revealed at release date.

I saw a guy picking his nose at the Sprint store the other day who said it is definately the 31st.

I was planning on washing my hair Wednesday, so a 2.1 update would be inconvenient. If everyone doesn't mind, I'd like to reschedule to either Thursday 4/29 @ 4:30PM or Tuesday 6/22 @ 3:00PM. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

I'm open on 6/22 @ 3:00PM. My clothes should be done by then. Can we have a group consensus on that date?

OFFICIAL SAMSUNG MOMENT ANDROID 2.1 RELEASE INFORMTION AND ROADMAP!!!

Thank you for your interest in the Samsung Moment Android 2.1 update. We are happy to assist you with additional information regarding this upgrade at this time. We are offering the Android 2.1 update in multiple formats to allow our important customers access to the software in multiple ways.

1) Repair Center Download (Available May): Throw your moment off a dock, bridge, building or simply run over it with a car. Then proceed to a Sprint Retail location where you can pay $500 for the Nexus One in May or if you prefer, wait until June to execute the above steps and purchase the HTC Evo 4G - on the world's first 4G network - when it becomes available.

2) OTW Download (Available Soon): Repeat steps above, but instead of proceeding to a Sprint Retail location, simply log in online to "My Sprint" and purchase your new device online.

3) Truthfully (Someday?): Wait until we get our act together, finish our new Football software and figure out if the Moment will actually run 2.1 or if we screwed the pooch completely by announcing that it will be updated to 2.1 even though the processor on this thing won't even handle a media app and email at the same time. Then, once we figure out the thing will get killed by 2.1, proceed to step 1 or 2 above to complete your update.

Thank you for contacting Sprint Customer Service. Press 1 for our retension department in English. Press 2 for our retension department in Spanish. Press 3 to live in the Moment with 1.5. Press 4 for "How to flash my Moment at SDX devs", press 9999999999999 to disconnect this call or simply put the phone to your cheek so it will press the end call button. Thank you again for contacting Sprint Customer Service.

Sprint employees (no matter who they are, even the moment 2.1 test group) know less about sprint's workings and when stuff is going to be released then the average joe who reads blogs and forums...

As an employee, I can confirm that....

I've gotten more information from the forums and blogs than I have at work.

I chatted with Sprint via web this morning, and this is what was said:

Hi Ronny. Any idea when the 2.0 Update for Android phones will be released?"03/29/2010 12:34:04PMAgent (Ronny T): "Please give me few minutes to get you the information."03/29/2010 12:34:10PMheather shipp: "Sure."03/29/2010 12:34:29PMAgent (Ronny T): "We are actively working on having the Android 2.0 platform available to our Hero and Moment customers over the coming weeks."03/29/2010 12:34:38PMAgent (Ronny T): "Look for more information coming in April about Android 2.0 platform for Hero and Moment."03/29/2010 12:35:11PMheather shipp: "April is right around the corner, any idea when during April?"03/29/2010 12:36:10PMAgent (Ronny T): "You can keep yourself updated about the new handsets by using our website www.sprint.com."03/29/2010 12:36:24PMheather shipp: "OK. Thanks."

I don't know where you are all getting your information, but I just got done talking to a homeless person outside a Sprint Store and he said it would be released on April 20th.

The fact that they state Android 2.0 makes me believe they have no idea what they are talking about.. just like the average sprint customer service (or sales or tech) representative.. Since both the hero and moment are getting Android 2.1 which is a totally different API build

31th? That's why we'll never see it...it's coming out on a day that doesn't really exist lol :D
Lets see 30 days hath September, April, June, anst November, All the reth have 31 (I think March ith in that group. the calendar I'm looking at thays tho too. LOL
Oh, I see 31"th" instead of 31st.

So if it doesn't come out on the 31st can I stone your friend who works at sprint?

Cause I also have a friend who works at sprint and he is the HQ's coffe boy and he over heard trough the door of a meeting that the 2.1 update will be out on the...aww **** it.

Actually, I say we go GET stoned WITH this guy.

Waiter! I'll have what he's smoking!

I have a friend who's high up on the non corperate chain of sprint, said the managers have a date but can't say when but soon, also there is some big announcement coming as sprint stores are having extra management meetings this week, and he said not to listen to any sprint tech guys or floor sales people as they start more rumors than jealous 13 yr old girls.

Its a rumor thread, whatever, 4 of us with moments were leaning on him over the weekend about it, he wouldn't crack under peer pressure about 2.1

Think this meetings this week have anything to do with it?

Also did you try using the google translater to do german to english?

Lol, I would love to see Sprint try to release something on time. Chances are, as well as having delays in the update, it's not going to be everywhere at once. They're going to make up some crap like they did with CL-14;
'Not to overload the system is the reason we're doing it progressively.'

It's going to be, basically,:
'Our current employed staff is just to stupid to know how to do anything beyond plugging something in and doing more than clicking a giant red on-screen-button with a label saying 'update'. Sort for any inconveniece this may cause.'
