Help Running Services

la sal

Android Expert
I went into my "running services" (under applications) and stopped some services that I wasn't using (Tango, etc.). From what I have read, this is one way to keep your phone running fast.

Does My Notepad really need to be running?

I remember when I stopped some other services it said that it may have undesirable consequences on the applications. Is that BS?

Installed Startup Cleaner. What is Batch prevent?

For System App I applied it to a preloaded Email that I don't use, Google Talk Service (don't use, I think), and Photobucket Upload Service Manager. Not sure if I need Google Partner Setup, Maps (I use Navigator for GPS), PC Services, and ProjectMenu Act. Since I don't know, I won't touch those until someone tells me otherwise.

Installed App, I can see that I need to leave all of the apps installed.

Don't know what ATK is. Someone on another forum recommended that.

Google talk lets market and your phone talk.
Atk is advanced task killer. If used right it can free up some space, if wrong it can actually slow your phone down.
For more ram you can also clean your cache from your app. Managing option in settings. If you are rooted you can use a cache cleaner, also

La Sal, there's a cache cleaner at the market called: cache cleaner NG that is free and you do not have to be rooted.

It works very well. I use it myself. :)

I've already uninstalled Startup Cleaner as I rarely turn my phone off. I'll check out the cache cleaner NG as I think it more what I am looking for.

It doesn't matter that it says it's for rooted users?

Also...does it clear your browser cache but not your application cache?
