Root RUU problems on WIN7 32Bit

lspec

Newbie
Ok here goes

I have a debranded desire (orange Uk) which is unlocked and has a valid gold card, I have the latest HTC sync installed on my laptop.

The last 2 OTA updates 2.*.*.2 and 2.*.*.5 both have failed to install OTA with a goldcard installed so I have headed over to shipped roms and downloaded the RUU.exe file

When I attempt to run the .exe I get "not valid win32 application" error message, has anyone else come across this problem or have a solution.

In the past these RUU have run with no problems on my laptop, I have tried compatibly modes but this aint working either. With the last update 2.29.405.2 I was able to DL the .zip file from shipped roms and copy to the root of my goldcard to install it, there is no link on shipped roms for the latest update as a .zip does anyone know where i can find a stable version

thanks in advance

Sounds like the RUU is corrupt, what size is the file?

Other option is to download the PB99IMG version of 2.29.405.2 that I uploaded there and flash it via HBOOT

@EddyOs not sure off the file size (deleted them) but seemed to be about right for an ruu application the last two I have downloaded from shipped-roms has had this problem

@Rastaman-FB Many thanks for the link I will have ago at flashing later.

I am just concerned that although the size off the update is small I think it must be some for off hotfix/ security issue
