Root S-Off Done... Flashing Partition Table Help?

Hi all, looking for a bit of help as maybe i'm just being a little thick (it has been known) but i've just successfully managed to S-Off my phone (go me :D) and now want to change to the bravo-sense partition table.

On the alpharev site it says to boot into fastboot and 'flash hboot' however no matter how many times ive tried (holding back or vol. down), when i boot into fastboot, the only options i get are:

bootloader
Reboot
Reboot bootloader
power down

As i said, probably being a bit thick so appreciate any help :)

EDIT: I've managed to do it now, just in case anyone ever has a similar issue, the way i did this was to follow the (frankly much easier) alternative method of flashing the partition table which was to download the PB99IMG (and rename to pb99img.zip) from alpharev, put this on the sd card and then simply boot fastboot where it will automatically detect the file and all you have to do is hit the volume up button when prompted to flash, and then once again when prompted to re-boot. Simples and hopefully someone else will find this experience useful :)

Fastboot commands are issued using a program you run from your computer, not a menu on the phone. Other threads here have included instructions for setting this up on Windows. For Mac & Linux you can download the fastboot program from HTC support sites (I don't have a link on my phone but found it using Google).

Thanks for your reply Hadron, i realised i was being a bit thick and used the alternative method as mentioned in my edit above. Thanks anyway :)

Actually I was thinking this morning about downloading a couple of those files to my SD so as to have the option to change tables at short notice, just in case. Probably never use it, same as the nandroid of a rooted stock ROM I carry around, but may do it anyway.

I carry my mtd patch files at all times.

I'm building up my dropbox with tools now too. And cool stuff

Hmm. I'm trying to flash an Alpharev Sense table directly from Hboot (as described below at Alpharev), but nothing happens. Can anyone tell me what is going wrong here? I load a pb99img.zip in SD card, boot to Hboot recovery, select that zip and install. Then reboot, but the table is still the same...

You can also download the corresponding PB99IMG zipfile, put it on your sdcard, and rename it to PB99IMG.zip. Then start the phone in HBOOT mode (VolDown+POWER) to flash the HBOOT without a PC. It is however still necessary to either restore your nandroid, or reflash your ROM after doing this. The partition LAYOUT has changed, the actual data still needs to be 'moved'.

You dont select the zip. Hboot itself looks for pb99img.zip and installs it itself. Like returning to stock. You dont go into recovery at all.

How do I know that it selects the file? Nothing happens if I go to Hboot.
The pb99img.zip file is on root directory of SD card.

Im not sure Ive never used it. Do you get the green text scrolling up looking for pb99img?

Yes, I see it picking the file (quickly), but that's it. Perhaps, I shouldn't restore nandorid?
I'll try a fresh ROM install after booting to Hboot.

In that 1second that it reads, now I see something like "no image or wrong image"... Strange, I just downloaded the PB99IMG_bravo_sense file and renamed in the phone as PB99IMG.
I'm going to rename the file on PC...

Yes. I'm starting to think that this might be a GV issue (although this seems very unlikly). I couldn't S_OFF under GV earlier.

Perhaps I should try the Fastboot method. Any idea how to get it setup?

Just tried it - fail...

hmm..for me it even worked as said in the 1st post too.

may be you should try using fastboot in sdk

btw did you check the md5 sum after downloading?

SUCCESS!!! :D

Fastboot Commander did the trick! I was using Boot flash (2nd tab) instead of Hboot/SPL flash (1st tab)...:o

Many thanks kewlbuddy for recommending this tool. :)
