Help S2 USB Disconnect

mayburyds

Newbie
Hi, new to forum!

Just upgraded my S2 to XWKI4 via Kies.

Since then I can't see a way of safely disconnecting the USB connection on the phone when it's connected to the PC. Previously I have pressed the home button to disconnect but I can only see a USB symbol at the top of the phone display now. Do I just pull the cable now?

Thanks.

Thanks for the reply but I can't see a disconnect option. If I hit clear the USB symbol clears but the S2 is still connected to the PC.

All I see under notifications is USB connected MTP connected.

Cheers.

Yep, didn't do anything. The only thing I can think of is that you use Kies to disconnect. Having said that when Kies closes the USB drives on the phone are still accessible from My computer on the PC.

One good thing about this is that I can still use the phone whilst it is connected to Kies.

Cheers.

Yep, just pulling the cable! Not good but I can't see another option.

Really not sure if it's my phone or not. Did a hard reset yesterday as the icons in the Applications frames decided to rearrange themselves. Still have the PC connection problem.

Does anyone know how I can force an update via Kies even though it states I have the latest firmware?

Cheers.

Been exchanging emails with Samsung support about this issue but got nowhere. They suggested taking the phone to a support centre and get it flashed.

If I use Odin to re-apply the latest official firmware will I still be able to use Kies? I have read that if you use Odin a binary counter is changed and a yellow triangle is displayed. Is that only if you apply custom firmware?

Cheers.
