Root Safe Mode: what does it do?

I found out that you can boot into Safe Mode by turning off the phone, turning it back on, and when you see SCH-R720 press and hold Menu (button on the very left) until the phone vibrates (just before full boot up).

Safe Mode on Android is said to be like the Windows version of Safe Mode; it disables everything but the drivers and apps needed to boot up.

However, when I boot into Safe Mode, I am still able to use 3rd party apps... So my question is, what does Safe Mode do on the Admire?
 
i believe there are several menu options that will not function. You will not be allowed to uninstall any apps. There will be no alteration made to any system files either..........after that i`m not sure.
 
it was made possible for phones cuz lets say u have an app and your phone stops working.safe mode will let yu boot up and remove these files to let you boot. after this you may reboot and well enjoy life again.

Zimlokks already basically said what it's for. It's just like safe mode for windows.

i was hoping for an indepth answer as to the specifics of safe mode. is it part of a recpvery block that it boots to? what programming designates what abilities you have or dont while in safe mode? are any adb commands blocked by safe mode? Kage please dont disregard others questions when you feel it has been answered. There may be others with questions like mine that simply failed to ask.

lol yeah, thats kinda why I posted this thread, I wanted to knoe specifically what Safe Mode does on the admire
