It's not "common." They aren't "supposed" to do it. Yes, you get 30 days. If you want the 20% without hassle (well, actually it's around 19% I think) use this link. It worked for me as of today. Not until 6/4. NON-Sprint stores (BB, RS SAMS etc) are taking pre-orders.

I called 4 Sam's Club stores in North Dallas today and each one said they had reached their limit on pre orders. At one of the stores the rep told me he would gladly put two aside for me on Friday as I am signing up two new lines of service. $199 with a $40 per line credit that will show on my bill in the first 90 days. Not a bad deal but am glad my local Sprint store is also holding two for me. I will have to do the $100 mail in rebates with Sprint but they will definitely waive the $36 activation fee.

Is Sam's Club calling people for appointments? I pre-ordered mine at Sam's Club on May 15, and I haven't received a call from them about an appointment time for pick-up. Should I call Sam's Club and ask them for an appointment?
They gave me an appointment at the time I placed the order. He also said he would call me the day before.

my rep just said come in at open, which i think is 830 (store opens at 7am, but kiosk rep doesn't get there til 830)
however, i'm gonna show up on thurs after work and try to get it out of him!

"Technically" yes because you need to show your membership card at the door but if you tell the "door monitor" you want to look around because you're considering joining, then no. When I ordered mine I was never asked for my card. I'm sure the kiosk guy doesn't care if you're a member or not because he's employed by Radio Shack not SAM'S. Other than that they probably have stopped taking pre-orders by now. It was supposed to end last Friday.

Also, typically you can walk in to browse, but need to show your member card at the checkout counter, but since you are 'checking out' at the cell phone kiosk, you technically will OK....then the guy at the exit door checks your receipt....
Like costco you need to preset a member card when entering the store. But honestly you could just say you dropped your family off and they went in before you with the card. I do not think you need an actual member card to sign up for the phone.

here's a question what happens if somebody gave me a discount for me working somewhere that i really don't work? what will or would sprint do? i've been offered to get the discount saying i work at mcdonalds but don't want to take the risk of doing it.
Nothing. When the seller puts it in the system they have to check off "Verified employment."

i didnt say i was going to do it... i'm too afraid of getting caught... i said i was offered that to sign up with sprint at the mall. i just wanted to know what happens not that i am going to do it. i'm signing up at radioshack.
