If you go to the market and search Captivate, Sammy has released 3 free apps.

1st. Is an Office mobile type program for word, ppt and such

2nd is Car mode

and 3rd is desk clock mode.

I think they look pretty good.

Quick Office has also been available through the AT&T portal. It's pretty damn solid, I opened up a Word doc with a fair amount of formatting and it looked great. Opened a couple of simple Excel files, worked just fine. Pretty good mobile solution for MS Office files!

I really like the Desktop App, combined with one of those dock chargers where the phone sits in the cradle in landscape position, it would be outstanding.

I think the weather temp is a little kooky, but I'm sure they'll have that patched up asap.

Nice find!

For whatever reason I cannot locate these in the market. Searching by Captivate or the app name results in nothing.

home app is pretty cool.. Would be a great alarm clock with a landscape dock..

But Accuweather sucks.. It NEVER gives me the right temp, and lags like crazy.. Its 70 degrees here, according to accuweather its 32...

too bad you have to use daily briefing for the weather to load in the desk home app. that was one of the first things i deleted from my phone after rooting.

I think you are, i messed around with it for a little bit and it seems that it's a .doc viewer in its purest form, strictly viewing. Docs2Go is the way to go, had it back in my palm days, def worth a look

Thanks a lot. I finally figured out how to copy stuff from quickoffice mobile suite for captivate. You need to place the cursor in front of the starting text. Then, click menu. Select x keyboard. You will see the whole paragraph selected. Repeat the text selection process. Click the menu button you will see the option for cut/copy. EXTREMELY CUMBERSOME FOR SOMEONE LIKE ME WHO IS USED TO FOOLPROOF PHONE LIKE IPHONE. :-) THOUGHT THIS MIGHT INTEREST YOU ALL. In the meantime, I am going to try doc2go. Thanks

The Office app works GREAT!! I cannot seem to locate the calendar/clock desktop app which is EXACTLY what I am looking for. I've done many searches and cannot find it. Any suggestions.
