Samsung Fascinate Lounge

Leeet's see.. Put the back part of the Zagg shield on my Fascinate last night (at 1am.. Yay getting five hours of sleep again). Not sure if I should post an actual review of the thing over in the SF forums, but so far: The extra grip is certainly nice, especially when holding it sideways for games.

HOWEVER, it is not what I would call "Maximum Protection." The back sheet covers the back, obviously, with cutouts for the camera and speaker. It does go down the sides, with cutouts for the ports, buttons and such, but even then it doesn't cover as much as it could.

For the top two corners, they have little flaps that you pull from the top edge around. First - the way they do this leaves a little folded part that sticks up due to the angle it's at. Now maybe I should've stretched it more - I've never used a Zagg before. But then on the lower two corners, they got sick of the flap thing and just didn't make the shield cover that part. So there's about a quarter inch section that isn't covered by the shield at all.

Which brings us to the front cover. Now, I didn't put it on because I love the feel of the smooth glass too much. But upon inspection it seems that it covers just the glass. So the black/silver edge on the front is still completely exposed, which is one of the places I wanted to protect in the first place. I understand that it couldn't be covered by the back piece, since that would glue the back cover on, but still.. selecting "Max Coverage" acknowledges that yes, I know it'll be hard to install, but I'm paranoid and want the entire surface of my phone protected.

Maybe I'm expecting too much, I don't know. It just seems that for what you pay them, it would be a little more well thought-out.

Sure thing. Not sure how well I can take close-up shots, but I'll try anyways. I meant to take a picture of it before I put it on, but as I said..1am, not exactly thinking straight at that point.
 
Just thought I would chime in here with a few of my shots of the VZN hard case with kickstand. I REALLY enjoy this case. It wont protect it from any major damage, like throwing it against a tree or anything but it keeps the back from getting scratched up and provides a bit of grip. Plus its cool with the kickstand and everything! Plus it was only 15 bucks!

..does this happen often?

And nice pics, it looks quite protective. Does the kickstand part (when folded) feel awkward when holding the phone at all?

Ha ha not often at all. Its more of an inside joke. I say if something doesnt work right, then toss it against the tree, either in anger or to fix it! Ha ha. It's funnier in person :D

And no actually its got a nice feel. It doesn't raise too much off of the main case and helps me keep it oriented when slipping it in and out of my pocket. Before the case I would always pull it out upside down. Other than that, Im VERY happy with the case. Which is really saying something since I HATE cases on almost ANY device. It stays protected, gives it a good grip and stays slim for my skinny jeans :P

I'll resist commenting on your choice of legwear.. But that's good to hear, it sounds like an excellent idea for a case, especially if you want to have a dock-like thing at night or do a lot of video-watching. Glad you like it so much!
 
Hey man, dont be hating ha ha. Im not emo, just liking the rocker look. And its simply ONE pair. Just used to demonstrate that its nice and slim...just like my jeans ;P

Naw it's fine, just bugging ya. I think some people look fine in them. It's just that a) Some people reallllyy shouldn't wear them and 2) I'd hate wearing them myself.

@saps: I'm gonna wait to post the pics tomorrow, if you dun mind. Rather exhausted atm, and don't feel like messing around with resizing and such.

My update failed last week and appeared to have been blocked when I tried Monday. When I got the notification earlier today I thought "Awesome! They fixed it!"...unfortunately, it's doing EXACTLY the same thing as it was before, even though I've removed LauncherPro. :(
