I had tried the brut's mod google maps and navigation, its cool, it works for indian roads also and preety accurate

Handcent is fantastic and certainly better than the stock sms on sgs. I find the pop-up on home screen and quick reply options very convenient.

Yeah.. SGS has awesome GPU.. But I don't like it's design IMO..

Yeah.. that would be great.. samsung is making same kind of design for every phone they launch.

NFS shift is not release yet.. It's been demoed first time at google IO on nexus one.

They should ideally be installed on SGS by default, do you have their apk by any chance ?

Samsung recently released these apps and is free to download from Market.
Market would filter the request based on the device model, so make sure to search from SGS.

I searched the market now on my SGS with keyword, "samsung", "samsung galaxy", cant find the app there, did you manage to search on market?

I think you should find car home and desk home like something.. I am a nexus one user.

I just installed both of these on my Captivate. For some reason, they didn't show up when I searched using AppBrain. I searched directly from the Market app for "Car Home Samsung" and "Desk Home Samsung" and got them just fine. That worries me about AppBrain, as I use it almost exclusively.
