You know the basics,,,but I dnt know anything abt it....commands totally differ from windows. Anyway.....which music player do you use mate ? I tried a lot and found MixZing is the best.

I love the samsung music player, its the best till now I had seen on an android phone, fully featured with equilizer and sound quality is at par with ipod and iphone ... samsung are good at making music apps I liked the Omnia II music player too, which runs on Win Mobile 6.1

Friend then I would request you to try MixZing...it also has equalizer and a lock screen widget...top of that android music players support .m3u which samsung player doesn't. How can you backup your playlists using the default player ??? No backup software even can do it !!!

I dont make playlists so no backing up there....will try MixZing once .. thanks

Try DDJG4 from samsung-firmware. It includes all three file (CSC, MODEM,PDA) in one tar file. Flash that and you will get your baseband version updated.

Mate i prefer my backup pro. If your phone is rooted than it works just like titanium backup. Is there any option in titanium backup to take backup of contacts and messages? I tried it for 5 min bt didnt found any. Maybe i just skipped it. Although i think Titanium backup is faster than my backup pro in taking backup.

One more thing. I am not able to restore my contacts through my backup pro or sprite backup. they just give error like "You dont have google account setup". But i have google account. Is there anything i am missing?Please help me as i have to create contacts group everytime i flash a new ROM.

There is some player called "3" cube music player. I have read it somewhere that it has some cool animations like coverflow. I havent tried it on SGS but see if you can get that.
 
2 more improvements I see with DDJG4
1) boot time is less with media scanner taking less time to scan all my 1000+ songs and videos
2) APN is stable, earlier I have to reboot to get a fix on APN now its done fine always
 
I see a lot of places people say with supl.google.com setting the GPS is fast, but for me
Operation Mode: Standalone
SERVER: www.spirent-lcs.com
PORT: 7275

with above setting its faster, is it bcoz we are in india and above server is reached faster ... anyone can test this setting change pls
