I really got to do something bt da battery...wen i went to sleep da battery was like 80%..nd wen i got up it was bt 50%...ny battery management apps????

Turn off 3G mode if you're not using it. Also disable auto-sync if it's enable. Hope that'll help. Another thing is that. If your mobile is receiving very low network signal at the place where you keep it while sleeping. Then it also reduce the battery charge rapidly.

Get AppKiller from marketplace.
This will close all your un-used apps and help you save on your battery.
appkiller use is very controversial, some parties saying it will actually do more harm to your phone. android has in built mechanism to manage its memory.
that said. i usually switch it off and turn it back on. the phone will run much faster after that since the phone closes unused apps upon shutting down. however, i don't know if it is a recommended way to make to make the phone faster.

so here is the deal...my battery is btr dan i thot it was...turns out my bro had played on it before i had gotten up...so dats y my battery had drained...but i used da fone continously for like 4 hrs yesterday to download games from wifi...nd battery from almos full charge went to almos 15%...dnt noe if dats good or bad..

after weeks lurking in this forum, I finally got an SGS, yay!
First impression:-
- The screen is very bright and beautiful! It is only at 30% brightness. The images are beautiful and the texts are sharp. With a screen this big, I am not gonna hold it close to my face to see the pixels, let alone use microscope
- It's thin and does not bulge out from my pocket like my K660i
- I have held a Nexus one but SGS is much lighter. I prefer a lighter phone even though some may associate heavier phone with more expensive feeling.
- Nothing wrong with a plastic body. The back of the phone is only slightly fingerprint-magnet (maybe that's because I just took my shower?).
- Upon loading the Gallery app, it shows up all my photos I uploaded on picasaweb. My contacts are all synchronised. That's really cool. It's all about the cloud.
- The lock/unlock button at the side takes a bit adjusting to.
- I was searching for swype but couldn't found it because the keypad was default to samsung's. I hold my finger on the box to choose swype.
- Since the screen is huge, I need a bit of work to reach the top of the screen with my tiny fingers. It's a good compromise though
- HTC tattoo has a detachable usb - powercable charger. SGS has separate usb cable and power cable. I prefer HTC's one.
I went straight to Akshar's after exams. Got it for 27,500 rupee. The guy told me that they have sold 50 units of SGS so far. The guy was patiently showing all the features of SGS including the pinch and zoom, asphalt, etc and I listened to him out of respect. It's a good thing that the store promotes the phone properly. The store owner also seems to endorse the phone.
The unit I bought was the last of the batch. They will need to order a new batch which will come in Monday. So I was lucky
Anyway, I am connected with airtel mobile office (EDGE). I thought I can't connect to the internet without the Rs98 recharge?

anyone got a scratch guard / screen protector for SGS ?
hi guys, i am new to touch phones and planning to buy a galaxy s. when you use a scratch guard, does it not impact the touch sensitivity of the screen? also, any idea where i can galaxy s in bangalore (around hsr layout) and what is the best price i need to buy it for (i am ok with cash purchase too)? thanks.

i m using the i touch scratch gaurd..its almos perfect...
so my bro liked this fone so much dat he also bot it at Rs. 27750
nd i certainly dont find ny problems with wifi...
im so fukin jealous dat kalpik got to win one of these....

feels pretty bad! I bought this phone seeing the fantastic hardware. didnt know Samsung could mess Android up so bad!!!! Sadness.. HTC Legend is faster than this phone!!!! Dunno what to do.. I hate to install a custom rom.. cos then i will lose the Divx playback.. and other things... I feel cheated!! and duped!!

try doing a factory reset once, the install task manager and kill unwanted apps which runs back ground, I noticed after boot up the RAM left is around 75-90 MB which is horrible but when I use task manager and kill unwanted apps, free RAM goes to 200 + MB and phone runs preety fast ....
