Help Samsung Galaxy S - Indian thread

Yeah.. SGS has awesome hardware. I love it. But the design of SGS is not that great mean it don't catch somebody's eye on first shot. Yeah weather clock is a good widget. Hope that dev of launcher pro comes with a good alternate.

I don't find any good feature than widgets in launcher pro plus. I read on their sites that the guy have work so hard to make some changes so he has to make it paid. But that's good.

Are you from india? BTW hows it feel to use touchwiz after using sense?

Ahh.. It's really crap. Have to many bugs and have performance issues. Let beta come.

Guys! we all know that SGS has a feature to increase or decrease the brightness of the display by swiping on notification bar itself.
Can anyone tell me how to disable it as i kept accidently increasing it?

Does anyone has any idea regarding this plz?

Without root ?? seems impossible as it need to set a new GSM operator code and change market vending xml file in /data partition.

Hmm.. doesn't seems impossible. I think it should be reading that GSM operator code from somewhere. We can mod the application to send GSM operator code that are from US/UK. I think it can be possible if we do have an android market code.

Seems many limitations here...

1 . Android won't allow to install Google protected apps like Market
2 . Even if you mod the app, you should change the application package name to make this install.
3 . If you change the package name, then you should enable the security for that package to access market vending service.
4 . In order change that, need access to /data partition
5 . Hence it need ROOOOOOOOOOT

Maket code is closed source..Google han't open sourced their protected apps like Market. Check the AOSP.

I am not talking about the application level permissions, it's about the installer/framework security require code change in the Android framework.
