Help Samsung Galaxy S - Indian thread

thanx bro....that apn on/off and contact remover worked fine.....but i am not done with contacts yet...as u said i synchronised my contacts via blutooth on my PC and they are stored in contacts folder in documents(windows vista OS)
but i dont know how to import them to my phone..i tried to connect galaxy via USB but not able to do so..i hv no SD card in my galaxy..pls tell me how to do it now

Buddy just copy all of them in a folder of ur internal SD card. Use mass storage thru USB to copy into phone. Then unplug ur phone and Go to contacts and use to import from SD option. It will search and import ur contacts. This method worked for me when i had HTC legend. IT should work with SGS also.

I heard that a Nokia ca-75u av cable works fine. Can somebody please confirm.

Thats strange! This method worked with HTC legend. BTW after selecting "mass storage" thru USB you have to go to notification bar >then select "USB Connected" . A pop up will come up asking you for mounting the sd cards. Then u ll be able to use your sd cards in mass storage.

ok now i have put them in mass storage but still experiencing same problem saying no Vcard file found....and when i try to open it in SD it says" no application can perform this action".....so this means the format is not correct as i told u contacts are in xyz.contact form

Dear guys need major help here for a unique problem with my wifi.
When i open the browser to load a web page, it just shows loading but nothing happens and the page does not load. Market app, email, gmail and all other widgets connect to the net to give updates but do not open web pages.
I have a Netgear 614v5 router connected to the internet cable connection. The router doesn't seem to be a problem since my laptop, iphone 3g and my wife's blackberry connects easily without any issues.
When i went to the samsung service center to get some solution to the issue, there my phone connected flawlessly to their wifi which was also a netgear router.
There cant be a problem with my router as my other devices connect without any problem and loads the websties which otherwise dont load on the SGS.
So guys i'm confused and dont know what to do.
Please help.

Ok. The contacts should be in .VCF format. Then only it will work. I have all my contacts in .VCF format only. Try any symbian software to backup your contacts in .VCF format. BTW i am used windows 7 to sync my nokia through bluetooth.
I am sure there must be some symbian app to backup ur contacts in .VCF format.

Might be some problem with your browser. Did you tried any different Browser from market? Try factory reset after taking your backup. Hope this will help.

I tried the sky fire browser but still the same issue,
I dont think factory reset would be a solution as the browser loaded websites flawlessly at the samsung service center but giving problems at my home wifi.
how to take backup of the internal SD Card on my non rooted SGS ?

Is your data connection is off? Try to turn off your data connection then connect to the wi-fi. I have read somewhere that sometimes it gives problem when the data connection is on with wi-fi. Is your router is showing that ur phone is attached? See if correct ip has been assigned to ur phone. Also ensure that ur not using data connection accidently instead of wi-fi. Dont know if there is something other problem.

thanks a lot nick....u hav been of great help...finally i was able to transfer all my contacts in galaxy....
is there any procedures for sms, calender as well.

Also if u could help in sorting out that google talk issue...i mean why can't i change gtalk account...i m using 2 accounts for gmail.

Well here is the solution for your problem, which was also faced by me and got solved by the below mentioned solution.
Go to
Settings>SD Card and phone storage>interrnal SD Card
1) Unmount SD Card
2) Format SD Card
3) Mount SD Card back
and then voila problem solved, your SGS will connect to Kies.
But the only hitch here is that you will lose all data on the internal SD Card.
All the best, i'm sure this will solve your problem.
The best way to fix the KIES issue has been posted by saj_2001ind already.http://androidforums.com/members/saj_2001ind.html

You might try this...on your nokia phone go to contacts....mark all contacts...Copy > To memory card. Then go to file manager....open memory card > other. There you will find a folder "Contacts". Just copy the folder to your pc/laptop. All of your contacts will be in .vcf format within that folder.
