Help Samsung Galaxy S - Indian thread

****ing froyo end of the month..

I WILL NEVER EVER BUY ANY ANDROID PHONE FROM ANYONE EXCEPT GOOGLE
Hmm.. I'm not sure if Google's gonna sell any phones directly anymore.. Nexus One was their last experiment :) And about froyo, its already been out for a month now ;)

I am having a 2 month old SGS and i love it. First the first one month i was a noob to android world having come from Symbian. I hesistantly bought the SGS over the HTC Desire. But it was the best thing that i did. For the first month, i was hesistant to atleast root the device fearing that i may lose the warrantly. But after a month of waiting for Froyo, i got impatient and decide to take the risk.

After researching for 2 whole days thanks to Xda, i understood everything and then started using Vodoo lagfix, and phone runs great !! But, i got more adventerous and then used Odin and flashed many custom ROMS, unofficial firmwares, so on. I bricked the device many times, but again a reflash through Odin was enough and back to normal. My product even changed to XEU and i found a way to bring it back .

So what i want to say is that the SGS is a great piece of hardware, but inconsistent in software. So i advise u all to try the lagfixes, custom ROMs etc, It is almost impossible to brick it as far is know(i tried but failed). For those who are beginners, it may seem very difficult to understand about all these.
Hence, i am willing to help anyone as much as i can with these rooting, flashing, custom ROM's etc. Dont hesistate to mail me

Also, i thank Kalpik for your great work. Keep going !!!

Lets not talk about stuff that hasn't even been released yet! But yes, Cyanogenmod is progressing very well for the Galaxy S, so 99% we should see gingerbread on the phone, if not officially, through cyanogenmod :)

yes i know its not released , but will be soon in near future...and SGS hardware is rock solid , hence i wish it to get even Ice-cream update :)

Today i installed Cyanogenmod v6.1 (alpha) for the Galaxy S and i m raping it from last 5 hours and let me say this is the only thing that stops me to sell my SGS

Cyanogenmod rocks
( just not for daily use ) w8 till 19th for stable beta :)

Compiled it from source? Or used someone else's system.img?

well if a noob like me can do this and use it as a daily basis then i think a average android use can handle it :)
everyone here and there keep scolding sgs and samsung mostly indians coz froyo not released yet but i think this will change their mind if they understand what is this :P

i m not gonna look back even if some things not work in Cyanogenmod :)
