Help Samsung Galaxy S3 Stuck in Factory Mode Please Help!!!

From what I read, factory mode is usually a corrupt efs partition. I'd say about 50% battery would suffice.

When you plug it in does it make any attempt to recognize it? Perhaps you need to install the USB drivers? Those can be found on Samsungs site.

I installed the drivers and it's recognizing it sometimes when its on normally but it doesn't even try to read it when it's off or in download/odin mode

Oh I didn't know you're on kitkat. I had assumed 4.3...

Thank you for pointing that out. I'll see what I can find on this.

At this point I just finished "rooting" my phone I followed this guide perfectly and when my phone was booting up it gave me a message about auto root and restarted my phone but when I checked it on a root checker it said it wasn't rooted and I also tried Sol's solution on the terminal emulator again and still it says not found so I don't think it rooted right. Here is the guide.

Samsung Galaxy S3 Android 4.4.2 KitKat Update: How To Root Sprint SPH-L710 Variant And Install Custom ROMs [TUTORIAL] - International Digital Times

Ok I just did your guide it gave me the same message and looked rooted and Odin said it was a success but I checked it on root checker and it still says it's not rooted. Do you have any better ways to check roots?

Terminal Emulator still gives not found also.

check to see if you have a super user app in your app drawer...you might have to update the root via the settings in the super user app

Okay. Did everything say success when you did it? Try downloading and installing SuperSU, and then download root checker.

Download rootchecker from the play store, run it, and let me know if it says your device is rooted

Hmm....So you followed the tutorial exactly as it said? When your phone rebooted did it show a CF screen? I think it should be like a reddish color...but I could be wrong...

Anyway, did it show you a bunch of text, and say success on your phone itself then reboot itself?

Honestly, I am not sure.

Perhaps see if anything matches your issue in this thread here:

[SPH-L710] CF-Auto-Root - xda-developers

Seeing as Chanfire is the one who made this exploit, perhaps he would know?

Edit:

I wonder. Hey any other staff reading this with me and trying to help this fellow out, do you think we could flash a recovery via odin, flash SuperSU.zip in recovery, and proceed?

i haven't read through the entire thread, but if OP is on the correct android version, typically 4.2 (pre knox) that would work out as that's the typical root method before knox.

if after, i think knox prevents that way of rooting.
