We all know the S4 is being announced today, but what about the actual release?

I asked in Phones 4U today and was told they will start taking preorders on the 15th of April and the release will be a week or two after that.

Take this with a pinch of salt of course but it seems realistic to me :)

Maybe for Europe... Doubt we'll see the S4 in the states anytime before late May-early June

But who knows maybe Samsung will pull an Apple and have stuff ready to roll a few weeks after the official announcement... Weirder things have happened.

Yeah this is in the UK. No idea about the US, I suspect you'll have to wait longer stateside as that was the case with the S3.

I wonder when we'll see it on AT&T in the states. My upgrade is in May. Can't wait to have this beauty in my hand.

I don't understand why the US can't get it when everyone else does. Does Samsung not like the US or something?

I think it's more that the US carriers don't like their customers and make them wait while they add their bloat and remove features.

Why would they remove features? That's just assinine.

Because they can and still sell ? I think it is more like a replacement than removal ... Although no idea about the US to be honest. I just seen it in the UK where carrier removed stock software to replace it with carrier specific ones.

Tethering is one. My understanding is that tethering is free with your service in the UK, while in the US...it comes at a premium cost.

Any other feature removed will likely be limited to bandwidth related ones.

You my man speak the truth...its so ridiculous what these carriers do to us! This is when I start getting angry and remember why I went for the nexus 4 with a T-mo prepaid plan. I absolutely hate the U.S. carriers and how they have to add all they're nonsense to these phones.

When? The most UK networks do is change some of the icons and add one or two of their own apps (like Vodafone, who have their own app store for some stupid reason). Never seen them actually remove features.

Then again all the phones I buy are SIM free so they don't have any network nonsense on them anyway.
