Help Samsung Infuse 4G Battery Life .

Yes, I am rooted. I can take the screenshot. Just having problems uploading them to this site. Can I do it through the app or do I need to be on my pc?

my bad....you need to upload them to q host site like photobucket. grab the sharing link

create your post/reply and hit the picture frame looking icon in the text editing tools and past the link.

it can all be done from the phone.

i think only donating forum members can directly attatch photos to posts ...not sure tho...looks like i can...and i never donated.

to directly attatch you use the paper clip icon

badfish, post your display time too, when you get around to posting those screenshots. also, please let me know what kind of settings you are using on JD! i am currently getting great battery life too - but it sounds like it can be a lot better!

Here we go. With only 6 hours of display on though. Still impressive. Still with over 40% left too. Ill see how long I can go and post another later.

Battery life is average for an android device. Compared to ATT's other offerings at this time, (Inspire and Atrix) its the best. Though thats not saying much.

Just wanted to Know how is the battery life on the infuse 4G ? I have the infuse also and the battery is not looking to good .
I know this is 2 months old, but i would like to know as well. I just bought the infuse today. The rep that sold it to me said it was way better than the HTC Evo (which I had before this one and it SUCKED.)

the evo and inspire have identical battery life...the infuse started off worse but gets better with time and tweaking. we own all three devices and thus far the infuse has the worst life.

your best bet on any device is to follow the multiple battery saving tips throughout the forums.

if you use your phone...it is going to drain the battery :p

Another thing to keep in mind is that if you have a weak signal where you are then your phone tries to compensate by increasing its signal output which drains the battery pretty quickly. I work in blast proof buildings at plants and with light usage by the end of the day my phone is at around 30 - 40%. However when I'm in the office with a much better signal then with moderate usage by the end of the day I'm usually around 60%

You can check your signal strength by going to settings > about phone > status.

This is probably true. I was always struggling to keep a signal with T-mobile here in NW Denver. AT&T gets 4-5 Mbps down in two places where my old phone couldn't even place a call.

That being said, I went from morning until night yesterday and still had 80% of my battery. I'm totally impressed by this phone's battery life. Your mileage may vary.

All valid points...but all of our phones are android.. On att .....all same size battery all heavily used

battery life is garbage on the infuse

Ed, i think you got a bad one... or your expectations are too high? because my battery life is amazing, with very heavy use.

over 24 hours on a single charge, with 4+ hours of display time.

sounds like you are having issues with the device itself - don't give up on it - exchange it if you can.

the battery life on this thing is unreal, as others have said.

I would believe that. It could be bad..and yes...my expectations are very high haha

The att guys said the same thing that the battery life should be far better than what I am experiencing

...I have a friend at samsung that I am meeting up with tomorrow..I will ask him about it. (he may or may not have a sg2 for me to play with too :P)

Yea i love the phone---but the battery is not that good at all. Maybe it's my programs/app's.....let's see what happens since i'm still a new user of the phone...

Before the infuse, I had an iphone 3G S and then the iphone 4. Honestly, I forgot how the battery life was on my 3G S, but I would definitly say that thus far my iphone 4's battery life exceeds the infuses.

That being said, I think the smartphone manufacturers should start focusing on developing better batteries instead of making the phones more powerful.

Did it take a little while for your good battery life to kick in?
I got the Infuse 4g last week and the battery is absolutely brutal. I'm talking 4 hours on moderate use (send a few texts, use a couple applications but nothing much). I get up around 8 for work and the phone is almost dead at lunch time. That can't be right.
Should I be returning the phone or is this normal for the first little bit before the battery settles in.

I've been going through battery hell for a few months now. If the phone was left to sit, ostensibily doing nothing, it would drain itself to zero in 4 or 5 hours.

I was constantly charging it. If i went out for a few hours with no charger, the phone would be dead after moderate use.

I finally fixed it by doing a hard reset to the factory state, which wiped out all of my apps and wiped out my root access. (but retained my contacts, so that was good. I did a full backup before doing the reset, but haven't had to use it yet.) There was pretty obviously some rogue process that was running all of the time, draning the battery, but I couldn't identify it.

I tried all kinds of things to fix it. Power tweaking apps, got a new battery from ATT, was all over the web looking for solutions.

The reset fixed it immediately.

I'm slowly re-installing the apps that I need and keeping an eye on any change in battery usage. I'm pretty sure it had someting to do with my rooting the phone, which I don't intend to do again, as I didn't see a lot of advantage in it. It's not like jailbreaking an iphone. The Androids are pretty open as it is.

Anyway, that's my suggestion for really bad battery life - do a factory reset and start (almost) over from scratch. Get a backup program first and back everything up and store the backup in the cloud or on your pc.

Hope this helps someone. I was starting to really hate this great phone.

My battery life has been exceptional on my infuse compared to other droids... My captivate required me carrying around my charger at all times... Now i plug it in at night unplug when i wake up and have yet to have to plug back in before bed... Take that back... Unless im doing some serious streaming like watching more than one movie on project free tv... But a normal day of facebook emails calls text and a few youtube videos ive had no problem making it the whole day...

By the way, regarding doing a factory reset. Though any apps you've installed get removed, you don't have to repurchase them. The store keeps track of what's been purchased - all you have to do is re-download them.

I got my daughter a Infuse 4G and the battery was as advertised, as it goes dead within an 8 hour period. I found an extended life battery [3400 mAH] at GorillaGadgets.com for $28.00 and it definately extended her run time.

I am running Infused 2.2.2 with Entropy's Daily Driver and I am getting very good battery life, 5% maybe every hour with just texting use. It used to use maybe around 10% with texting use every 40 min.

I found the problem even when charging the phone takes too long,
The real problem was 4g always on, this suck battery so darn fast.
So to charge the phone you need to turn off the 4g but of course you wont received any email and so, unless you are on wifi, heres how to do it easy just press and hold power button then deactivate "data network mode" and I even tried watching.movies on my memory card with the 4g off made hug, not tiny bit, but huge difference. Now we need to look for an App that will turn off 4g and only use 3g connection, as deactivating data network mode turn off data entirely including e edge. I'm going to call samsung 1800 samsung

JuiceDefender has a lot of power management tweaks. There are 2 paid versions and I am currently using just the FREE and I am getting atm x1.41 and have gotten upwards to x1.7 the life. With the paid versions you can get 2 - 4x the battery life and I am looking to prolly move up to one of those.

Just sayin my opinion on juicedefender, that saving time it says it makes, for me it was almost like how much worse it became lol. I did disable the turning off internet on standby, which did help but it for me didnt do anything.
