samsung mobile firmware downloader

wasnt that the same one that samsung firmware was using?
it looks extremely similar, even the icon on the top left

The icon is the same as in FUS Downloader, and I believe it's just a standard icon from some Development Environment, that's used if the dev can't be bothered to make a genuine icon, wich is usually the case with internally written and used software )

And I don't think it is a good thing it's leaked and spreading. I guess, like SamsungFirmware warned us, Samsung may close down the server or something.

However, this is probably the software, that's being used in service centres around the globe, so Samsung cannot shut anything down overnight, but they can easily change the protocol of negotiation of the app and the server, push the app update to the centres and shut us off.

It is going to be a disaster. if every one of those 50000 people, who downloaded Galaxo 1.6.2 will go and use this tool. IMHO.

On the other hand
Firmware download is limited to 1 firmware per day & computer

This makes me think this app is not Samsung's native tool.

Update
Verdict - it's an easier to use alternative to FUS, and it is certainly not an internal tool. It simply utilizes NPS libraries (apparently included, so no need to install NPS) to decrypt downloaded firmwares from "publicly" available servers. The good thing is that you don't need any codes to input, it simply lists all available firmwares with modification dates. Which is good )

Does not work on x64. Install it in an x86 virtual machine (VirtualBox, VirtualPC, you name it).

this is not official as its been made by someone on modaco
browsing the list though it looks like all the current 1.6 versions are now officially on FUS
there are also some new codes for i7500L which seem to be JD2 and JD1

samsung would probably have to recode NPS and their internal update systems if they killed FUS

EDIT:
actually i think it is actually the leaked one that someone was using for samsung-firmwares.
oh well i guess theyre gonna be a bit pissed off

I don't think it is.

Firstly, it is the same developer, who made FUS Dowloader.

Secondly, it only has access to publicly available servers, where NPS gets the updates for eligible phones.

Thirdly, SF's app looked differently on their screenshots (at least as I recall...)

this is not made be sephail, sephail made fus downloader.

the other bit is the same thing that samsungs firmwares software tool does as someone who made it a while ago tried to sell me it as its based on FUS

the difference with samsung-firmware is that they actually have contacts with samsung aswell like the russian forums where they can get leaks before its on fus.

infact recently the russians have been even quicker than samsung-firmwares

yeah you maybe right on the last point, thinking about it. it did look slightly different

Good point!

Okay then, enough arguing about the source of the app, let's get some popcorn and wait )
agreed

when you get chance connect to it and select i7500 then click any and search
it will list all firmware released in date order for i7500 and i7500L
i notice there are some new jd firmwares and the old jc6
if its on fus then its on for consumer nps download

It sure should be. I've asked at 4pda.ru, whether anyone with Russian CSC can see the JC6 update in NPS - waiting for replies.

JD1 and JD2 firmwares are available but it looks like they're for i7500L. The software is buggy so I can't download it.

GT-i7500LI7500LZVVJD2I7500LVIJD2I7500LVIJD2_ZVV.zip
This should be it.

It tells me the same. Tried to find this firmware via FUS downloader but I'm not really good at that since I don't know which info to input (current version to search for updates).

People (well, so far only one person) at 4pda.ru say they can't get update through NPS, and the latest reported version is still I7500XEII5.

I was interested to check if this was 1.6 so that it could be ported to the BH2. But after extracting the files it is actually 1.5.

ro.build.id=CUPCAKE
ro.build.display.id=CUPCAKE.VIJD1
ro.build.version.incremental=VIJD1
ro.build.version.sdk=3
ro.build.version.release=1.5

I actually downloaded JD2 but they didn't update the build.prop from one build to another.

maybe he's not with the right csc. if he is really with SER csc then we have problem ... no nps updates, no sources.

we can flash i7500's rom (remove amss and cache.img)into i7500L ,

how to flash i7500L's rom into i7500? the same operation?

Could someone please mirror this software? I don't really feel like registering @ MoDaCo just to obtain this program...

InFect?

i think thats a bit of an insult to modaco considering they got it for us
you dont even want to register on one of the best android modders sites for some free software that will help you?

cmon man

nah, i know about this tool since the release and didnt mirror'ed it on purpose. i was hoping that this tool will not get that much attention to prevent samsung changing smth on fus.

also: what rastaman said.

meh. There's sooooo many forums.

Is there anyone on MoDaCo doing something serious for the Galaxy (and reporting on it)? If so I might go there, but to be honest I've found this forum the most informative and lively one up to now (still don't know about MoDaCo though)

afaik one of the first custom roms for the galaxy comes from there.

sure, the galaxy section is not pretty active compared to androidforums.com, but that might be, because its more a modding forum than a support forum.
