1.056Gbps on the 28GHz wave spectrum. The millimeter band is capable of transferring massive amounts of data practically without limitation. Unbelievable! What do you guys think?!

Great at capturing headlines and for bragging rights, but useless in practical terms.

Who is Samsung trying to kid? There will NEVER be a 5G network - The Register

True. The technology probably cannot be efficiently utilized for a mobile phone network, but the ability to transfer high rates at data in that band should prove useful down the road. I'm thinking at the very least wireless networking in a home or office. And being a ham radio operator myself I can envision sending massive amounts of data packets across that band.. providing that your class of amateur radio license allows use on those frequencies.

I do agree that Samsung seems to have misleadingly announced a launch of a 5G network by saying "does not expect the commercialization of the technology until at least 2020". They are only testing right now.
