Accessories Samsung Vibrant Cases

If anyone's interested, I'm selling my T-Mobile black silicone skin for $8 in the classified section. I just ordered one of these:
1
http://cgi.ebay.com/Light-Purple-Ha...651512?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item4aa3db80f8. Seemed like a great deal! I just hope there's some quality to it...but for $4, who knows. I'm just tired of the rubber skin snagging on the inside of my pockets so I wanted something harder. And, a lil color never hurt anyone.

I have the case from Case-Mate and like it quite a bit. It's not as hard as the SGP or the Body Glove case, but I expect it will stand up very well, short of dropping it from 6 feet onto concrete.

So is the exterior rubbery or hard plastic? It sounds like the rubbery silicone is on the inside and the outside is the hard material. Also, how is the fit?

I got this one case from T-Mobile, about 20 bucks, so worth it though.... it is very soft yet feels and acts tough, I haven't dropped my Vibrant yet, but if it does I am confident that this case, along with the super strong screen will keep the device really safe. I really don't know the name, if you want it, just PM me and I will get you the name of it. I actually think it is made by Samsung, really nice case overall.

The phone itself gets a soft silicone skin, and over that fits a fairly thin yet hard, textured plastic of some sort. The top, bottom and bezel have the silicone exposed.

It has a nice feel to it and grip is good. The fit is excellent...everything lines up surprisingly well and it looks great. I think I made a good choice with it.

And how about in and out of the pocket? Does it slip in and out easily?

That's a question I can't answer. I've never carried my phone in a pocket; to do so, at least for me, would surely bring about an untimely death to an expensive piece of equipment. If I had to make a guess...I'd say it should do fine, though perhaps not as well as a hard case like the SGP's. Certainly better than something like the stock T-Mobile gel skin.

I seen one person asking about a clip holster for the vibrant, I just found out today that the hd2 holster that holds the phone face in by cellet will hold the vibrant rather well and even better if you take a heat gun and warm up the bottom two corners and fold them in a little if anyone is interested in seeing it i can upload pictures.

The exterior is a hard rubber/plastic. It's really a silicone glove with a hard case that goes over it. Keeps the silicone glove secure and fitment is great. It looks like one case when all is said and done. Makes the phone feel really safe as well.

Can you put a pair of pants on and test how easily the phone goes into and out of the pocket? I'm sure a lot of people are wondering since this seems to be a pretty popular case.

The phone is so pretty I decided not to use a case. When I go to the gym I throw on the gel, but that's it. I even took off the screen protector as it took away some of the screen quality. Everyone who catches a glance at my phone is like wow that's a cool phone lol

Hmm...are you implying that I don't wear pants? Anyway, in my very limited testing, it seems fine going into and coming out of the pockets of plain ol' denim jeans.

Just noticed that Seidio has a "Coming soon" notification for the Samsung Captivate Innocase 2 holster and case, which means the Vibrant is probably not too far off. Fantastic...I'm really missing my belt clip and innocase 2 holster that my BlackBerry had. It's always easier to clip it in than to carry it along with my messenger bag and servers, hah. I would just put it in the bag, but I get so many calls per day (Thursday I had 55 calls between 9am and 11am) that I couldn't grab them all if it was stashed away.

I decided to post some pics of the samsung case-mate black and pink case, I just got mine in today...i've seen pics of the black one but figured someone may want to see the black and pink one..

First off, the pink in the pictures on the website looks more rosy but in fact it's a hot pink, which is unfortunate but i guess i'll live :P

Unless someone knows of a way i can alter the pink silicone? glitter, paint, anything?? I need to tone down this bright pink, it's just not me lol

Also the 2nd picture is to show how the power button is...it seems like you wouldn't be able to push it but i haven't had a problem with it

I have that case...and really like it. I did not, however, get the pink one! Unfortunately, there's virtually nothing you can do to alter the silicone, an nothing will effectively stick to it without ruining it.

Have you contacted the seller and asked if you could exchange it? You have nothing to lose. :)

I haven't, i would still prefer the pink than to an all black case lol
But nothing will stick to silicone?? :(

Not that I'm aware of, at least nothing that won't possibly be regrettable in the future. That type of silicone is somewhat Teflon-ish in nature.

I have the T-Mobile gel case and it's alright, but I just ordered the Case Mate Barely There case. It won't be nearly as much protection as the gel case, but it's something and I really like the size of the phone bare but I don't want it to be completely caseless. I may also pick up the Body Glove one. I'll post pics of the Barely There case once it arrives.

Oh wow! That looks pretty interesting. I'm definitely in for some pics and actual measurements to see if the "Barely There" name is true.....
