Save $30 on Incredible VerizonWireless.com

So I just called VZW, and my CS representative had no idea what she was doing or what was going on. She bumped me up to a manager and he claims that this was a leaked code, that was only supposed to be available to select customers, (the selection criteria is still a mystery to me) and not the general public.

As such he won't give me the discount but is going to see what he can't do for me because I helped him "catch" the leak.

Sorry gang, if you've already pre-ordered your phone you might be out of luck. If you plan on ordering it online soon, please do use the code, it may be discontinued soon. It might help to know what CS reps were helpful. Jennifer was decidedly not.

wonder why it works for you?

Criteria for ***** promotion were not met; no discount was applied.

Are you not the primary account holder on your plan? Is your amount due past due? Do you already have a Smartphone + data plan?

These are the only things I could think of that might prevent the code from working. You can also try calling Internet Sales @ VZW and inquire as to why it's not working.

I used the smart30 and still got free shipping. The code came up when I clicked to cancel order (was thinking of going to store on Thursday).

I just called Verizon about this. They said that the promo was an HTC promo NOT a verizonwireless.com promo. As the result of being on the verizon website, htc, who pays for advertising on the site, may advertise that promo code within their ad space.

I talked to multiple people, one of whom put me on hold and then called HTC to see if she could get me the discount (though I doubt she really called them, she probably called her own boss). They said they cannot offer it, that I'd have to return the phone (when I get it tomorrow!) and then re-order.

Hello everyone! First time poster....

I also got the criteria not met message at checkout.

I'm wondering if this promo code is only valid for first time smart phone subscribers.....

Well my line is a first time smartphone on this family plan but I can't get the discount to work. I'm trying to get rid of my LG dumbphone but Verizon seems adamant about keeping me from saving a few bucks since I'm not the primary line.

REALLY !?!? Anyone have this kind of luck?

Got mine taken care of on the first call. Just explained the situation, and the CSR told me she couldn't put the $30 back on my credit card, but could credit it to my account, which is what she did.

ximfinity - you rock, thanks for posting about this!!!

just spoke to csr as well, said they will do a $30 credit to the account when i call back after i have the phone. guy had no clue about any promo codes but said they have a fair amount of authority to provided credits and such as they see fit

Ok here is the deal with the code.

You get it when you put in an incredible in your cart and then you go look at other phones.

Called, first CSR told me to fax her an email.

I called again because I got my tracking number and its only 2-day delivery when it should have been overnight. CSR told me because it had shipped they couldn't do anything about it.

Told her about the smart30 code and she said she would credit it back to my CC.

You just need to call again and talk to another CSR. The code is NOT for select customers its for people who were shopping around.

Bottom line is the people who were loyal and pre-ordered 10 days in advance are getting a worse deal than people buying today.

I make no qualms about receiving the phone shipped on their dime and shipping it right back to them on their dime for them to give me the discount.

My rep was Mike and he helped me a ton. Credited my billing account. It may took a few calls to get the "right" rep to get this done. I got lucky on rep #2. First rep had no idea what company she worked for.

OK, question: I was 4 months away from my NE2, but thought I would give it a shot to see if I could upgrade early. I called VZW and the rep I talked to said he would see what he could do and ended up bumping up my NE2. The only catch was that he couldn't place the order for me until launch (couldn't pre-order), so he is going to call me Friday morning (4/30) to place the order (I wasn't going to push too much for 4/29). Do you think I will be able to use this code when I order through him on Friday?

BTW - You guys owe me an answer. It's all your fault I'm even getting it after watching all of you slobbering all over this thing for the last month. :D

Well, that's not true at all. I added 2 Incredibles to my cart, and then proceeded to check out immediately. I think it is more a function of (1) you need to be the primary account holder and (2) you need to be a first-time Smartphone buyer.

Thank you. This is my first cell phone and I used the code. It worked. Not only did I get $30 off each of my 2 phones, but I got both activation fees waived. Wahoo! :D

I tried it twice: once on my main line and then a secondary line, one eligible for an upgrade and one at full retail. Both are 1st time smartphones. Neither one worked. :(

I wonder if this was one of the North East promos. I got a mailer and email awhile back stating to upgrade to a smart phone from a regular phone early. I am curious are people who got the code to work in the north east? I know I am

Ask and you shall recieve! Thanks for posting the SMART30 code. I just got off the phone with Verizon and they appologized they could not credit my Amex card, but would credit my Verizon bill instead. The rep couldn't be more pleasant and she said she is getting an Incredible too so she was very happy to help out.

Just got off the phone with CSR #1, they said that it only applies to orders placed between 4/27 and 5/3 after checking with someone else. I'll be trying another CSR shortly

My experience:

I am able to get the discount applied online only if I act like a new customer and go through the process of selecting the phone, plan, accessories, and then move to checkout. On that page I was able to apply the code, but it was worthless as I get stuck with the $35 activation fee, etc....

Going in through my account, trying to use my new every 2, I am not able to get to the checkout page, and there is no option to apply the code anywhere along the process. The only button I have is the "submit changes", which would then process and stick me with the charge on the new phone at the $199.

I would love to know how some of these people are getting the $100 off for online discount, then another $100 off for their new every 2, and then an additional $30 for this promo.

Short of calling and getting a sucker on the verizon line that is going to give you all of this, I don't see it happening. :)

But that is only my experience, anybody that can get the incredible for under $100, kudos to you!

Interesting point you make considering I am from the East Coast too.

For those trying, keep trying until you think $30 isn't worth it anymore. I got lucky on the 2nd call and both calls combined took me 10minutes. Well worth $30 in savings.

same exact situation happened to me.
