Help Save ADW layout?

I have phone rooted with stock ROM. I'm running ADW launcher and have it set up pretty nicely.

I wanted to try some other layouts (different wallpaper, widgets, ext). Is there any way to save what I currently have so that I dont have to set it up all again?

In the options of ADW, you can save your settings.

LauncherPro Plus saves it's own built in widgets layout. Other than that, I don't think there is a way to do this unless the widget itself has an option to save it's layout configuration.

GO Launcher EX lets you back up and save layouts.

These let you save non LauncherPro Ex widget layouts? I have the paid version of LauncherPro and I cannot find any setting to save the widget layouts other than it's own built in widgets. I could not find a widget layout backup setting in Go Launcher either.

It will save your app layout, just not your widget layout other than whatever color background. You get a blank widget.
But widgets are easier to put back in place than 120 something apps, ya think?

I wouldn't know. Apps on the desktop would annoy the hell out of me. Just like my PC, I keep my cell desktop nice, neat, clean, and uncluttered.

ADW Ex will save your widget layouts. For me, it works on Fancy Widgets and PowerAmp. I don't use any other widgets, so I don't know about those.

Thanks Brotherswing. Too bad there's not a stand-alone app to save widget layouts. I loath ADW.

I'm curious as to why? I only started using it because I noticed it was faster than Go Launcher, which I really liked. The only thing ADW is missing is the multiple pages of dock icons and I miss that. I only paid ten cents for ADW during the big sale on the market last month, so my feeling won't be hurt if I decide to switch (again), I'm just looking for opinions.

LauncherPro Ex is much much faster than ADW or Go Launcher. I started out originally with ADW and then went to Go Launcher Ex. The Go Devs refused to fix the wallpaper sizing issue with their themes, so I got irritated and bought LauncherPro lol.

Since I have LPE and ADW came with the rom, I can tell without a doubt that LPE is much faster and more stable than ADW. At one point here recently I had all three (Go) on my phone just to test which one would be faster. LPE wins out every time. The only problem is it seems that the LPE dev is no longer updating the app. It runs fine right now and without glitches, but it would be nice to get some new features.

Good to know, thanks for the opinion. I have noticed that ADW Ex is more stable than ADW, but not sure if there is a speed difference. I'd like to try LauncherPro, but if it's no longer in development that could be a deal breaker for me. I'll check it out, and thanks for the advice.
