Root Saying goodbye to the Evo V and VM :(

I'm looking at the RUU guide and I was wondering if I can put the pg86img.zip on my SD card with Mobster's Unlocked Potential (after locking the bootloader, of course)? Will it still work?

Okay, I got the drivers... How do I know it's locked? It doesn't say anything in the bootloader?

I flashed that zip that tells you if it's locked or not and it says it's locked... but the bootloader doesn't say anything.

I did the fastboot oem lock cmd and it said

ERR[INFO] Command Error!!

OKAY [ 0.006s]
finished. total time: 0.010s

Although if you're S-Off, you can run the RUU. And that SHOULD be all you need to do. But again. I'd wait for someone slightly more knowledgeable than I on this.

If you are trying to return to 100% stock you can use this guide.

The bootloader won't show as locked until after you flash the RUU and the stock hboot is installed, but make sure it shows "locked" on the first line of the bootloader screen before setting S-ON.

I got it :D.

Can it stay S-OFF? Does it have to be S-ON to be activated?

It can be activated when S-OFF on the stock ROM.

Depending on what you are planning to do with it that makes sense to keep your options open and it's easy enough to set S-ON later if necessary.

well, another hassle the next owner of this phone doesn't have to worry about, should they decide to go down the path of turning their phone into a Evo 3D.

Why does the HTC Software update say it's an update to Android 4.0?
