Root screen brightness bug

I want to start off by apologizing to any of you who read this and are inclined to say I should run a search. I've spent the last several minutes searching and haven't found it. I'm just starting med school and that pretty much wasted the free time I will have for the next 3 days...

I'm running MikG (I think 2.3.. can't remember) but I've had this problem for a little while just haven't had the time to fix it (or do anything but study...).

My problem is that after the phone has been charging the display settings automatically default to full brightness instead of Automatic. If I set it to automatic it will stay like that until the next time I charge the phone. It seems if I only charge the phone for a little bit this doesn't happen, its more of an after an overnight or very long charge thing. I feel like I've come across this in the forums before I had the problem so I didn't look into it at all.

Any help would be very much appreciated. Back to musculoskeletal embryology...

if you ever encounter any glitches or weird bugs just wipe dalvik cache and cache and it usually fixes the issues.
