Help Screen brightness prob after update

after the recent update I am unable to adjust my brightness on my screen. My screen is stuck on the dark setting,theone just before it goes black,and the brightness setting in setting does not work. I have tried the automatic setting, I tried manual settings and I even tried downloading some brightness apps from the market. The only way I can get the screen brightness to normal is by pulling out the battery and setting the screen to never time out, but once I turn the screen off with the button on the top of the phone it goes back to the semi dark setting. All this started after the updaate,does anyone have any suggestions. I did call sprint and all they said was to take it to a sprint repair store.

Try getting a cache cleaner and see if cleaning out cache helps.

Have you tried a battery pull?

that was one of the things I tried but it didn't work.

the same thing happend to me but i also dropped mine on concrete that day. im thinking that this is more of a hardware issue then a software issue. but if you figurte it out please let me know.
