so iv had my white HTC evo from the day it came out and i babied it like my son. i never let it drop or hit anything. just now at work i dropped it on the floor and the screen cracked like a huge spider web on the entire screen :mad::mad::mad::mad:

what do i do ? i have full sprint insurence. i go to sprint and they give me a new one ? will i get the white one or the normal black one ?

Since you have insurance, just call Asurion. You can take it to a sprint store, but they will just tell you the same thing. You can call *2 from the phone, which takes you to sprint's customer service, and they can transfer you there. You should get a white one from asurion.

Seriously...go into a sprint repair store...be cool about it...they may be able to just change the screen for you. I would do that, then call or chat, then use asurion

in that order.

If you call sprint, they will tell you to call asurion. Been there done that. I would love to have found a sprint repair store two Evo screens and $200 dollars prior to now. But I've gotten all new ones, so I'm happy with that.

I'm not sure why but it has been hit or miss. some users claim to have called in and been sent a replacement phone. The posts are out there...true or not????

The phone I took a picture of at the sprint set up at NASCAR this weekend was replaced on the spot by the techs set up out there. They gave no other details

My local sprint repair store is amazing.

Some young kid, couldnt have been even 20 - replaced my screen no questions asked in about an hour. Phone looked new when he was done.

Sometimes you just find a nice person willing to help.

cracked my screen lastnight, a 3 story fall onto some loose rocks did the trick of messing up the screen pretty good, the phone itself was fine surprisingly. Brought it to sprint today around 4:30. She said come back in an hour or so, i got there at 6 phone fixed. Free of charge, full sprint coverage, dont bother paying the $100 deductible for asurion.

SOOO, i went to sprint yesterday around 5pm with my cracked screen. they tell me they have need 1 hour to look at it for internal damage to the board. so i come back around 6:10 and they said they ordered the screen and it will come come next Tuesday.

Sprint is really good about the whole screen thing

IF the internal workings aren't messed up it's easy to actually go get a LCD touch screen on E-Bay.... about $60. with free shipping..
Mine came in 2 days from California.. The Sprint Repair store did the swap out in about 25 minutes for free.. The Tech said thanks for letting him do His First One ( since they were so new )...

My Phone has worked Great.. Not a Problem since the Ooopps.. Breakage
It's been almost 2 months now... Like New

I think the $100 deductible only applies if it's unrepairable and would need to be replaced. Repairs should be free, but I might be mistaken.

UGHHHHHH!!!!!! Hate seeing this thread cause I cracked my screen and thought the only thing was to call Asurion. Now I have a replacement that has light leakage and the 4 buttons at the bottom barely light up. So annoying. Although I did keep the battery when I sent the phone back to asurion so now when the thing dies after 4 hours of use I have a backup.

OR.. OR... call into sprint or use their chat. thats an easy way to get the info you need. just trying to help bro...

sprint chat is terrible. im starting to wonder if thats where the sprint customer service reps that have no verbal communication skills, or any skills, go.

I know this isn't for everyone, but a new digitizer (even "OEM") is only $30. If my screen cracked, I'd just replace it myself, which is why I didn't go for the whole TEP/insurance thing this time.

Just go to your local Sprint store. I'm not sure why people call in.... My wife dropped her EVO, shattered her screen. I took it up to the local Sprint store, and since we have the insurance, they replaced it in about 1 hour, no cost. Just dropped it off, went across the street and picked up a few things at Home Depot, came back an hour later and they returned the phone with a brand new screen on it.
