Screen Cracked

Far as im aware, the Best Buy insurance has no deductible. The rep said, if I drop it and it breaks, or lands in a puddle, just bring it back np. Its all covered. Youre certain "all insurance claims" have this?

the catcch about best buy insurance is...its all good if youmess up your ohone...but if you lose it...you lost it. ..thats why i didnt opt for it

Would it be possible to switch to a different (cheaper) phone that you or a friend already has...add insurance to it and then switch back to the Evo with the insurance still active?

I cracked the screen on my Evo a couple of weeks ago. I called the Sprint corporate store near me and they said they could replace the screen in store for about $140 or I could do the insurance claim. I did the claim and got a brand new Evo from Asurion. Couldn't be happier. Rev 3, no defects. :)

Ya the bestbuy ins is definitely the way to go if your not worried about losing your phone. And have you looked into any phone repair shops? Idk what they charge, but I have seen many that can replace phone screens if anyone is afraid of doing it on their own

See post 15....& 33. Its been 3 months and no pics :(
I've had a few scary moments but have yet to drop mine.

A service and repair Sprint store will likely repair the phone...for $119.

Research Best Buy and the horrors some have endured while waiting to have their phones repaired/replaced. In my opinion, its not worth it.

Has any1 ever bought a Square Trade warranty? for the EVO?
care to share your experiences?

FWIW, Sprint will let you add the insurance inside the 30 days but Assurion won't cover it for an after-the-fact claim. Don't waste your time.

The screens are kind of cheap on ebay.

I'd also STRONGLY recomend a TPU case. I've dropped mine several time caseless and tore up my Ghost Armor screen protector bad enough that I took it off.

With the TPU case a drop ends in a dull thud and the phone doesn't even know it was dropped. I have a < $3 shipped TPU case from ebay and most people think it's the phone's body.

Here ya go

Search on EBay for a New LCD screen....about $60.00 with free shipping

then call the nearest Sprint Repair center..( NOT Sales Center )

the Repair Center close to my house Took my Screen from EBay and repaired it Free
The Tech said he had never done one before because they were so new..so He did it free to see how it would work..And worked like a charm.. Viola

if you want i have just the capacitive screen if you want it, its harder to replace but it is cheaper, id ask 40 for it if your interested, pm me.

So, pretty big fall from my Evo. The Screen is completely shattered. My question, is it better to just get a new Evo and the insurance covers it so I would only have to pay $100 or buy a new screen off a website?

I would go with a new phone, unless you know how to properly install it and it is a decent amount cheaper. Unless theres a huge difference in price id go with a new phone.

Take it to a sprint repair center. They might be able to repair it without it giving you a new phone, which shouldn't cost you the $100.

If you have the $7 per month insurance it wont cost you anything. If you don't it will cost you $35.
