I'm running CM 7 Stable. When I push my power button to illuminate the screen, it doesn't do anything. The bottom buttons light up and I have to swipe the unseen unlock slider to get the screen to come up. This also happens with incoming calls. Some what intermittent, but 80% of the time I have to swipe the invisible slider. Any suggestions?

Root Screen Doesn't Wake Up

i would try and wipe dalvik cache and cache and see if that helps. most of the time when i get weird bugs, errors and things like that usually will go away by wiping the cache's.
Its been my experience with cm and that issue, 2 things.
That particular issue can be solved by going into your cm settings and turning on 'screen on animation'. It kinda gives it a jump kick to start things going.
And also sometimes you'll push the power button and nothing will happen, not even your bottom buttons will come on. Yesterday I had to push my power button 5-6 times before everything woke up, which is unusual because normally a second push is good enough. But ive read that setting your minimum processor speed up from 245 MHz in your performance settings will help fix that. But I haven't tried it.

yeah i was on cm7.0.3.1 and 7.1 and never had that issue. you might want to update your rom to the latest and see if that helps.
You might be well served to do a couple of updates.
7.1 just came out. I'm sticking with 7.0.3.1 because I haven't had any issues with it.
And tiamat kernel is golden with CM. I'm on 4.0.4 but I'm pretty sure 4.0.5 just dropped. I would start with updating my kernel first. It will be the easiest thing to do and won't blow up your OS install.
As far as installing an updated CM, I always like to start fresh on new installs. But you might be able to do an upgrade install. However you have to find out the specifics on whether it is a good idea to upgrade from 7.0 to 7.1 or just start fresh.
Just FYI tiamat 4.0.4 is based on kernel 2.6.38.7

The screen does wake up, you just can't see anything. I've found that if I swipe as normal, the screen unlocks as if it had the tabs visible.
