Root Screen on Instantly in CM7

Hey guys! I know this has been mentioned before, but I don't feel it has been given it's full weight yet. I am loving CM7, but I was interested in getting the screen to wake up on the power button instantly. Does anyone know why it isn't instant and takes almost a full second?

I experience the same thing but only because I have a SetCPU profile that lowers the CPU frequency to between 61 and 245mhz when the screen is off....so when I hit the power button, it takes about a second for it to wake up. If I disable that profile, it turns on instantly with no hesitation. I'd rather save on the batt life so I keep the profile enabled.

I think all Android phones have a delay in waking up (I've owned 3 so far). It has to do a lot of cleanup and preparation before waking up, since it's designed for multitasking, can have a lot of stuff going on, like resuming devices and apps that were suspended. I just get used to it. You could try turning up the min frequency, but that'll sacrifice battery life for a little faster wake-up, not worth the tradeoff IMO.

im on MIUI, it definately isnt "instant" but the screen is usually completely on and ready to unlock by the time my finger leaves the wake button. feels pretty dang fast to me. im on the "Lag Free" cpu profile with a min of 122 and max of 1.6GHz

its definately much faster on wakeup than my Vortex. that thing takes a full second or more
