Accessories Screen Protector / Invisible Shield?

I ordered 4/20 and was told my order would ship out between today and monday morning.
I was also able to retroactively apply a 50% coupon...great!

I'll be getting the Steinheil. I guess I'll just have to gamble for about a week, or I can try fitting a Best Skins Ever that I bought for a blackberry onto it haha

I rather have a naked phone than a Zagg invisible shield. That product is horrible. I had it on my LG Dare for a few days before I took it off because it decreases screen sensitivity, plus it feels rough over the phone. It's almost impossible to install perfectly so there will be bubbles and lines over the edges, makes the phone ugly.

The Steinheil's seem very good. Someone posted a video of it. I'll be waiting for the anti-fingerprint. Wish they would pre-release it though.

how about good, full front protection WITHOUT having to spray a solution on the phone? What are good, simple screen protectors that cover the whole front?

I said it earlier in the thread, but I ordered from Screenpatronus. I have one on my LG Versa, and they go on without a solution which I like. I don't know how much I like putting a solution on my phone because I have no experience with it, and I don't think I want the Incredible to be my first lol. Screenpatronus excepted my order but I am not sure when it will actually come so I might do a Verizon one until I get it. But I use them on my phone and my camera. The camera one has been so good, I have never had to change it. They come two to a pack and the price is pretty cheap IMO.

I thought I had settled on an anti-glare screen protector, but something else has crossed my mind...

If/When I purchase an Incredible, I know that one of the apps I'll be using is Key Ring. I currently use a similar program on my iPod Touch and I know that the screen protector used on a phone can impact the ability of the bar code to be read by a scanner. I've read that it's best to use the crystal clear screen protectors when you use such programs. The bar codes displayed on my iPpd Touch never seem to scan, but the screen protector I use is crap, and I haven't bothered to replace it. Have any of you used a similar program, and have you had any success using said program with a particular screen protector?

I bought a couple of screen protectors from bestbuy.99 for my HTC magic and have had no problems with them (easy to put on, minimal resistance and clear)...oh and I don't work for the company...just a good cheap ($2.00) product.

isn't the bar code scanner completely reliant on the camera and not the screen?

Probably. :p

<snip> Does anyone actually throw their phone in their pocket with keys, change, etc. and not expect it to get jacked up?

Yep, every single day, and my Zagg Shield has kept my Imagio screen in perfect condition. I thought about a belt clip but my girlfriend said she would throw it away as soon as I fell asleep.

Regarding using Swype, I have had no problems at all on my Imagio with invisible shields.

I'm sure there are other great products out there and some are better suited for particular tastes but I tend to stick with something once it has proven itself.

He's not talking about using the phone to scan barcodes. The program he refers to is one that allows you to display barcodes on your phone screen.

The main use for this is to put all of those "discount cards" from the pharmacy, supermarket, etc. into your phone instead of having to carry all those cards around. You just bring up "CVS card" on the app and have them scan that.

So in other words, you're asking a supermarket barcode scanner to scan the screen of your phone.

I'm curious if anybody has used this too. I might consider using it, but it certainly does seem that some screen protectors may interfere with this.

FYI,

I ordered the Verizon 3-pak from the website to hold me over until I decide on a protector and they are only screen covers, not full face.

I had a Skinomi for my Pre and it was better than the ZAGG because it wasn't as grippy and the clarity was better. It went on perfect the first time, also something I couldn't get the ZAGG to do. I had to buy the ZAGG for now until Skinomi comes out with one for the Incredible, but as soon as they put it out I'm making the switch.

The skinomi looks good. thanks for the tip... Amazon says it's availble for $9.99, not a bad deal i say. and if it doesn't have the sticky feeling and residue like it says it doesn't even better.

I think I'll be good with just the skinomi and a clip/holster. no bulky case for me.;)

haven't heard of them.. I think we need phandroid or someone on the forums to buy a bunch of the protectors and do a review for us on whats best, haha. there are SO MANY different screen protector companeis

I almost purchased an IS online, but the whole purpose of me purchasing it online was

  1. better price
  2. better product
I'm more than willing to pay for it, considering I'm less than a week out. So I go to put in my shipping info... AND IT COSTS 19 DOLLARS TO SHIP IT 2 DAY!!! I need the product to be here before I purchase the phone. I'm paying full price for this phone (as well as getting VZ's insurance) and I want it protected (mostly from myself and my less than graceful moves).

That being said, 43.99 for a screen protector isn't worth it. I've decided I'm going to go pick up the phone on Thurs, swing by Best Buy (they're also selling the phone) and see if they have any screen protectors (or cases), and return to buy the VZ accessories if it's the only choice. At worst, I'll pick up VZ's accessories and limp by with them until I can find better on Ebay.

I made sure i ordered my IS ahead of time ... my total (with shipping and 40% off) was $11.98

sweet!

I officially hate you :p

That is a pretty sweet deal. I made the stupid assumption that there would be a lot of accessories on ebay and I could get decent shipping.

Yes, I know... I was stupid! :) Live and learn.

Has anyone received their Zagg Invisibleshield yet? I ordered mine on the 18th and the site shows the following status. I'll be calling them today for an update, but sure wanted this thing by Thursday!!
