Who is going to use a screen protector on their Fascinate and who is going naked? I know the screen is Gorilla Glass but I have used this screen protector since day 1: Stealth Guards

Stealth Guards are awesome and it's basically free! Only had to pay for shipping when I bought mine. :D

Naked since launch day not a scratch. Gorilla Glass is not indestructible but equally true a .5mm thick sheet of plastic is not going to help either. To each their own. If people feel better having it on more power to them

+1 since launch day, not a scratch.

Same here. When I had the DX (which looked washed out anyway) I used a screen protector. Learned my lesson that these phones are really good with protecting against scratches; it seems a lot smoother without one.

I went w/o the first couple weeks and then got a Seidio clear (identical to Steinheil). When the screen protector is first put on or just cleaned, you can hardly tell it is there as it feels and looks like naked glass. However, it either collects smudges from oil in your fingers quicker or these smudges just seem more bothersome another .5 mm from the screen. I just took it back off.

Screen protectors are the biggest racket in my opinion...just another way for companies to suck money out of you. The guy at Verizon tried so hard to sell me screen protectors when I bought my Fascinate. I finally asked him "so basically you're telling me that the screen on this device sucks and that I shouldn't get this phone because it's not reliable as a stand-alone device?" He got quiet and never mentioned brought it up the rest of the our time together.

My feeling is that if you take halfway decent care of your phone and don't store it with your rock collection, you'll be fine.

i think for some phones it bs....(like ours with gorilla glass)...but my inc scratches so easily that its impossible not to have one imo

Ive had a screen protector on mine since I got it, but got fed up with it yesterday and took it off. I forget how good it feels with a naked screen. Think I'll be leaving off the protectors for a while. Honestly, I never used one before this phone, and my old phone had terrible resistive screen'.. That had to be more delicate than this one.

No protector but i do have some small scratches on mine. Not sure if its from putting it in my pocket with my keys or what. I am not that anal about things, its "just a phone".

I have never used one an any droid I had in the past but bought one for $.99 on ebay with free shipping to try it out. I can't see it or feel it so if it keeps my screen from getting a few scuffs great. But for a dollar I don't think it can hurt.

that gave me my morning laugh

I buy them on ebay, multiple reasons:

Verizon overcharges for every accessory in the store. The screen protectors thy offer don't cover the entire screen either. At $15 for a pack of 3, you can do better. Ebay sells much better quality ones(thicker) for about $1 a piece.

I will say that I have scratched my screen protector in the past, pulled it off, installed a new one, and no issues. They work, just don't buy the "film" ones, buy true plastic ones that are more rigid.
