Screen protector recommendations/discussions

anyone use extreme guard from ebay?? I have used them before but this one seems a little sticky.. Makes it hard to use swipe

He just put on our Clarivues and we've used them in the past. I really like it. I had them on my old EVO's. I've also heard good things about Steinheil but Clarivue's came out first.

Well I'm debating on getting a screen cover because, 1 we have GG2. And 2 because it seems like a crime to put a screen protector on this amazing screen lol. But my question is do u think its worth it and if so which one will be the least "screen dimminishing"?

Get a screen protector. :D Gorilla Glass is pretty susceptible to small particles like sand. The ONE X forums are already full of people who have scratched it.

I personally like Zagg products but others may suggest something else.

I'm using Steinheil and it is beautiful! You really cannot tell it is on there. I've always been a Zagg fan because I preferred the feel of Zagg. But, I thought I'd try the Steinheil since it had such rave reviews. I'm glad I did. Initially I bought the matte one as I have really sensitive eyes and the glare of the sun can give me a migraine. The matte did stop any glare! However, I decided I shouldn't give up the beauty of the screen. So I got the most clear one they have and have not been disappointed. Fingerprints are not a problem either. And, it went on easily after watching an install video on you tube. No bubbles and no dust first time!
Highly recommended.

I have always wanted to try Steinheil but have had good success with Clarivue. Was going to try Steinheil finally but Calrivue actually came out with there's before Steinheil so I went with them and happy with it. Best Buy tried to show me Zagg the clerk had it on her phone and I didn't like the way it felt but lots of people like it.

So I got a replacement evo and got another zagg hd to go on it in the otter box.. And this is the second time that the zagg has messed with my proximity sensor... And I've had to do some modification... Is everyone having this problem or just me?

It worked flawlessly for me, about to get another now that Sprint replaced my phone.

I will say the cut out for the sensor is pretty tight, make sure you don't cover any of the sensor.

Idk why zagg made the cut out for the ambient light sensor and not the proximity sensor... But it's working fine now.. I just did like I did on my first one and cut it back a little bit... I still swear by the zagg hd I won't use any other brand

I just noticed that the replacement skinomi screen protector now has the cut out for the proximity sensor, and unlike zagg, it is in the right place. Also, I put an xtremeguard on my son's ipod and we tested out the self-healing properties, and any dents or scratches started to fade and disappear within minutes. For how inexpensive they are, I was quite impressed and may try it on my phone.

I just noticed on my Calrivue there is a little scratch a small line where I think having my phone in my pocket at work with keys or a pen messed it up and I am now keeping it by itself in my pocket but it's only noticeable with a white background and it's a small messed up spot but I know it's there and it makes me want another protector and I think I'll try Steinheil cause I think on my EVO 3D the Calrivue did the same thing but I'm sure it was my fault but this happening a couple weeks after I had it put it on so I may buy a pack of Steinheil been wanting to try them.

I've tried almost every screen protector on the market. SGP (Steinheil) by far outshines the rest.

+1 for the XtremeGuard. Had one on my original EVO and now on the LTE. If applied correctly you can hardly tell it's there. Works good for me and you can't beat the 5.00 price.

I'm really thinking about just getting all el cheapo screen protector... I love the zagg but I honestly don't get where they get the audacity to say that it is scratch proof... I've scratches previous ones with a cloth while cleaning the screen lol But the clarity and feel is what keeps me coming back to them... It's just getting annoying having to get them replaced every few months. I remember a while back I got a generic screen protector from 5 below for 5 bucks ( duh) for my then point and shoot camera ( since ditched for ltevo :D) and that thing never got a single scratch on it

I'm not super particular about scratches on screen protectors (as, I've always preferred that over the screen potentially being scratched). that said, when I had the SGP screen protector on my EVO, it lasted months until I finally got my first significant scratch...and that was for the Ultra Crystal one (which is my preference) and is not necessarily built as an "anti-scratch" protector.

In fact, it's already 1 1/2 years since I put that on and even though the phone is being used by another relative, the screen protector is still holding up strong on that phone. A lot more scratches, but not to the point that they're significantly noticeable.

Steinheil/SGP/Spigen Protectors do still get scratched pretty easily, however if you take care of them well (keeping your phone in its own clean pocket, not letting it float around in a purse with keys or anything else, use only a micro-fiber wipe on it carefully, etc.) they can last the life of the phone pretty easily (1-2 years, exactly like Drex is saying :)) Small scratches here and there are unavoidable.

Ultra Crystal will likely get scratched less readily than Zagg, and on par or about equal to Clarivue (I haven't used them, just going off of years of reading others info and research). In conclusion, a Spigen Ultra Crystal screen protector will still scratch fairly easily, but less than nearly all other options.

the only thing that I don't like about the dry application ones is the corners tend to lift alittle... then catch all kinds of debris.. which leads to me ripping it off lol... I always keep the phone in the defender and I use the holster... I complain but for some reason zagg always ends up on my stuff

That's interesting because I had more lifting issues with my zagg than my SGP

Really? Idk mine always stick well thats never been the issue for me ... They just always seem to get scratches and digs over time... I never let the ppl at best buy or any store put my screen protectors on.. not that that probably matters... after the first week of curing the zaggs are a real pain to get off.. which is obviously a good thing... But if you do want it off there isnt any sticky residue... I know the cheapo ones leave some... Idk about the sgteinhiel ones bc honestly ive never tried them. but maybe ill give em a shot.. im really only worried about clarity.. and without a doubt the zagg is for sure super clear.

I had Zagg for my mogul, touch pro, and evo...all of them, i installed myself and were on fine for a while, but always curled up at the edges. When I went to replace my zagg, I saw so many people talking about Steinheil, that I gave the Ultra Crystal a shot...Never looked back ever since.

Feels better than Zagg (practically feels like no screen protector is even on the phone). Looks 10x's clearer (at least the ultra crystal does).

I have the Steinheil oleophobic on this phone and it's crystal clear, the only way I can even see that I have a screen protector at all is because I have just a couple tiny bubbles. Even the one corner where I peeled it back and re-applied it isn't peeling up at all, if I didn't know I had done that I wouldn't be able to tell because it stuck back down perfectly. I'm extremely pleased with it :)

Well my scratch isn't that noticeable and I am assuming it was cause I had it in my work pocket with a key or a pen. I'll just let it stay on there for awhile it's not that bad and yes having my screen scratched could be worse.

Next time the zagg gets scuffed up I'll put it aside before I get it replaced an give the ultra crystal a shot.

I never tried the oleophobic one before, simply because they didn't have it at the time that I purchased the crystal clear for the EVO. I'm still upset that SGP never made one for the Photon, but oh well. Nontheless, whaterver I decide on for my last 1 year upgrade, I'm gonna give the Oleophobic version a shot.
