Gorilla Glass breaks, shatters and scratches from sand, so that video is close enough for rock and roll plus it's informative about the chemistry of hardened glass. 
I posted it to educate about the glass cover. I read everything in the early threads here, obviously doesn't mean that I retained it.
Oh well, too bad we can't get that.
And I think that I am going to ask that anyone wanting to continue the rehash take it to PM.

Marctronixx is one of the earliest mods here and is instrumental in maintaining that standard, he was one of my mentors.
He didn't say he (or we) are infallible, he said he would do no wrong to harm a phone.
I really see that a lot said after marc's post kinda missed his point.
Please, next time, that's the marker to chat in private, then post the outcome, maybe together, as needed.

I never dealt directly with the tech (she seemed disinterested in my phone & issue, from what I could tell of the interactions they had). I dealt only with the guy behind the sales counter, who was really nice. He asked me if I wanted him to put the screen protector onto the new phone, I said I didn't think that would really work and that there were 2 in the package & the other was at home so not to worry about it - but he said he would try anyway. He took it in back and was only gone for 2 minutes and voila! I was really impressed he was able to do it and there were really no marks or peeling afterwards. I've been to this particular store a couple times and have always been happy with how things have gone there.
