Help Screen Protector

So, I have a screen protector on my phone. Particularly the Spectre Tempered Glass Screen Protector. The problem is when I call someone, the protector makes the proximity sensor think my face is on the phone all the time. So, unless the other party hangs up, I'm unable to use my phone, and god help me if they don't pick up...

Does anyone know how to fix this? I place the protector on correctly, so the sensors at the top or on their slots. Pic:

So the protector covers up the sensors?

There's a thread over on xda forums about this, I'm not sure if you are a member on there? Or seen that thread? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1792619

It seems that some s3's have a proximity sensor reading of 5cm and others are 8cm - the 8cm version apparently has problems with the spectre.

I was going to order one of these protectors as they look good, but I downloaded 'Proximity Sensor Finder' from the play store, and mine has a reading of 8cm so I decided not to order one.
Here's the link to the proximity app to find out what yours is;

I already know that. Mine is 5CM

Okay, so I contacted the makers of the protector. They said I have two options, 1 - disable proximity sensor. 2 - return the protector for a refund. 2's not going to happen, because honestly I don't really like the proximity sensor anyway, and getting it working isn't worth my screen's perfection. So, I've been looking all over the settings, and can't seem to find out how to turn of proximity sensor. Is it possible to do it with the stock rom?
