Screen Protectors, Who uses them?

I have a Zagg on mine SGS2 as well and even though I can see through it just fine and it fits nicely and doesn't come off. It annoys the smack out of me because the screen protector is so sticky... this is a bother to me simply because the protector I used on my previous iphone was not sticky and was wonderful.. wish I could remember the manufacturer for it to get an android equiv but can't :(

At least the Zagg protects well... if it wasn't so pricey I would have ripped it off and tried an alternative though. YMMV

I currently do not have one but want to use it. I tried putting one on when I first got my phone but it was terrible looking with the air bubbles and all. I took it off and not using one at the moment.

I recently got an Xperia Arc which I love but have a problem with getting a screen protector for it (worried I'll lose functionality, I guess).

So instead I bought a protective case/bag for it - and I'm just careful when I take it out. I've had too many problems with previous phones to take any chances - see number 8 on the list here!

My wife has an Evo 4g and I have a Nexus S 4g and we use no screen protectors. These screens are so brutally durable, I just don't see a reason to use one & potentially screw up the way the touchscreen feels and works.

My Nexus is a year old, and my wife's Evo is 1.5 years old and she is HARD on her phones. Both screens are flawless when wiped clean.

You know what? After about three weeks the zagg shield started to look like crap, no matter how much I wiped it down it always looked dirty, so I removed it. Naked screen looks great, wipes clean and is scratch free.

I use Zagg too. I've been using the same protector on my Droid 2 for 4 months, and it still works great! I ordered it online and installed it myself. It cost $15, but it is well worth the price. It fits the screen perfectly, doesn't detract from the image on the screen, and never comes loose. I highly recommend it if Zagg makes a protector for your device.

Once you learn how to install the protectors without making any bubbles, then they are pretty effective. But it can be really annoying installing them >_>

They are also very cheap which is good, so you can buy some extra, because you will fail to install them without bubbles the first 1-2 tries.

Because I love the feel of GG. And fingurprints are so much easier to wipe off.
And quite frankly, plastic is unnecessary with GG.

I used to buy screen protectors for all my phones.
Never bought the expensive ones though. I went on eBay and bought the cheap ones for 0.99cents
They all worked great.
I have a 3VO and my wife has an EVO and we both don't use them.
Had them for over a year and the screens are spotless.

I still use a rubber case though. I drop my phone enough times to never be without one.

I haven't used screen protectors since I bought a phone with Gorilla glass. It looks better without a screen protector, and I use my phone carefully enough that I don't get any sceen scratches.

Protectors are a must imo especially for long term usage. I purchased mine through Amazon called ArmorSuit. It's been very solid. Hope you decide to choose one!

Why are they a must? None of my smartphones with Gorilla glass had a broken screen or deep scratches after I was done with them. May be one or two small scratches visible only under special angle. Screen looks way better without a screen protector.

I totally agree, and see no need to cover such special feeling and looking glass with a plastic film.
I disagree with the people that insist that "you can't even tell it's there".
Just my opinion, though.

Some protectors have different effects from anti-glare reduction to reassurance. I wouldn't want my device which cost me a chunk of my paycheck to get damaged at all. It really depends on your preferences, but I can see the protectors industry staying strong.

I don't/won't use a screen protector with any device that has gorilla glass. I 100% believe in the quality of Corning's products and trust it.

I also had the feeling of a screen protector.

I don't see it staying strong at all. As glass becomes better and more devices are covered, the need for protectors will vanish completely.

@spike

There will definitely be more use of screen protectors in the future. Even a car's tough windows which I believe are similar to the gorilla class can get scratches. Same principles apply.. I wouldn't want my car to get scratched although I can't put a protector on it.. so I can at least do that with my device ;]

Well, people with OCD will buy screen protectors forever, but the demand will decrease, as more people realize that it is not that easy to scratch Gorilla glass under normal use and reasonable precautions. My phone is everywhere with me and still no scratches without screen protector.
