Root Screens- new problem

Ok I bought two of my kids optimus v's on black friday to use as mini tablets. I've had mine for a long time so haven't had to deal with the screen issue personally. Here's the odd part, one screen has a blue tint one has a yellow tint. Are these both Hitachi screens? Also when I rooted I used super one click these have 2.2.2 so I would assume they need gingerbreak to root which I haven't done. I know all the threads to find this stuff I just want to make sure I'm heading the right way with my assumptions on these phones. It's those colors that are throwing me off.

The recovery to use on the Hitachi screen thats the best for Froyo ROM's and has an option to get you out of a recovery, boot loop is Xionia v1.2518.6.
The best recovery for a gingerbread ROM is the Bob Zohme modified CWMod (VM670NH_recovery.img).
When trying to install a Froyo ROM some require that you install the pica07_remix kernel like you would the gapps on a gingerbread ROM.

Yeah, the Hitachi screens aren't consistent. Some are yellow, some are blue, etc. The only way to really notice is by holding one side by side with a Novatek equipped phone.

New problem, thought I would double check the one that didn't have the yellow tint, it has 2.2.1...... how do I check the screen? Does ginger break work on 2.2.1?

Yes. The recovery's mention will work for either screen. You won't need the kernel to install the Froyo ROM'S . If the Xionia 1.2518.6 give you any problems with completely wiping then use the 1.2518.4 version.

Thank you because I tried dmesg | grep hitachi and came back with a permission denied and wasn't sure what to do. Funny I'm usually helping people now I'm the one begging for help.

Yeah I did the second and both are rooted with backside. I was going to wait but I got tired of the freezing and crashing and the apps not properly closing properly and leaving the audio running. I knew what to do just wanted to make sure I was doing it right. Thank you for your help.

what is the easiest way to tell what screen you have? my friend recently got an OpV, and before he starts using it, i want to make sure what screen he has, so i can give him some tech support.
