Not sure if it's out there, but I just found out how to take a screenshot.
I was trying to get into hboot by holding the Vol down button and the power button, and to my surprise, I took a screenshot.
My little contribution.

yeah there are more ways then one if your on Android 4.0+

The screen shot button combination seems to only work when Android is in the middle of shutting down or restarting. Since if I try it at any other time, I end up changing the ringer volume instead.

You have to push them at the exact same time, if you deleted sketcher them you deleted your screen shot capabilities Btw.

Also hold power and quickly tap home button for HTC's native screenshots

Another thing to note is Hold down power and vol down till it takes the screenshot that is the ics native screenshot

Correction

Scribble is not bloat do not remove if you want screenshots

I don't think I removed Scribble. And found out why it wasn't working. As you suggested, I had to hold them down at the same time instantly to get it to work. I had always pressed of the two first then the second button. That was what wasn't working for me.
