Help SD Card dismounted

10 days ago HTC EVO 8GB SD Micro unmounted suddenly, rebooted & it was fine.

Today after the same 'unmount'recurrence there's no reboot cure. Another card was inserted & worked fine, the 'unmounted card' could not be viewed on either a Win or Mac PC....no recognition of its presence in either & in fact it caused the PC's to freeze when inserted or when trying to boot either with the card already in the bay.

Really need suggestions on 'self-help' or other remedies..........Guy

sounds like your SD went tits up, they do that from time to time, pretty rare, IF you can get it to register, try formatting it and see if it still happens, but sounds to me like its bad

agree maybe try reformatting it and see. but it does look like a bad card.

This has happened to me twice over the last 10 mos ... What I've done to correct is pluging the SD card into a PC, saving any relevant data, and reformatting the card; THEN it'll work in your phone. Haven't quite figured out what it is that corrupts the partition on the SD card, but this has been the fix for me
