Root SD Card Fails To Mount

So yeah ,
I've never had this issue before, I decided to reboot my phone and was alerted when I entered the gallery that my sd card wasnt mounted/present, so I went to settings>sdcard & phone> Mount External Sd . That didnt help. lol because the screen then became unresponsive but I sat there and waited (about 5-10 minutes) hoping that something good would happen which also was a fail. Thats when I was presented with this ..

Cwm can read the sd , I even put the sd in an adapter and connected it to my macbook pro and it reads it, so im thinking its the phone..

Was on #2 Rom and flashed LD-LG ZVD 2.9 . That didnt help.
Took out the Sd Card and put it back in . That didn't help.

Im out of ideas >_<

I would try copying the data off your sdcard (backing-up) and formatting it. It's probably an android specific data corruption (guess).

anyway, hope that helps :)

Do you have an extra SD card you can try to make sure you current one isn't bad? SD cards go out all the time, usually because of the heat within the battery cover from the battery.

Check another SD card to rule out if it's bad. If it isn't then do what the above poster said. Then check back ;)

:hmmmm2:try fixing permissions? I'm reaching here-this is a new problem-don't recall it coming up before:(

well , I tried a different sd card and im encountering the same problem /:

I even formatted both and still nothing.. D:

Have you recently flashed a ROM?

Reinstall the current ROM you have. Download a FRESH copy of it. DONT wipe anything, just install it. See if that works. ;)

I've seen multiple SD card issues caused by a bad flash of a ROM. I bet that's it. ;)

I'm thinking a factory reset - you've established it's the phone, not the sdcard. there may be another solution, but i don't know it. Besides, I did a factory reset after upgrading to ICS and it was surprisingly quick to restore my phone to it's former self.

DISCLAIMER - this is just a sugestion, please don't kill me :o

THIS is a last RESORT!!!!!!

Flash your current theme again with a FRESH download FIRST!!!!!! That will prolly fix it, it's fixed all other sd issues i've seen. If it doesn't for whatever reason then try a factory reset through CWM!! I dont see a reset changing anything though.

:D
Downloaded a fresh copy of #2 Rom , I put it on the sd , put it in my phone , booted in recovery and did as you said and there was no difference. :(

Im going to try a factory reset in a sec.

Do it from the recovery menu. Not the one in settimgs >_> word of advice in case you didn't know. :D

Yeah that's beginning to worry me now. I've never seen an SD problem that had to be fixed by a full reset. Hopefully it will fix it but I fear it may be hardware related. :/

Yeah, i mean its weird ..
Clockworkmod reads the external as well as internal sd card with no problem at all .. But when I fully boot to the homescreen, Its telling me that the external card isnt mounted o_O
Internal one is mounted but I cant save anything to it and its completely empty ?

Maybe this has something to do with permissions as stated above ? o.O

Okay well if CWM can read it then it's NOT hardware.

Have you tried flashing a different ROM since this started? If not, try a different ROM.
