Help SD card file corruption

umbcorp

Newbie
Hi, Im using Galaxy Note 2 with android 4.1.2 firmware. I have a 64gb class 6 microsd. When i copy my music or pictures they get corrupted. I checked whether my sd is fake or not, filling it up completely and reading the files back again. At samsung's website, it says galaxy note 2 supports up to 64gb micro sd. I even changed the file system of the card to fat32 from exfat and formatted several times. What should i do

Did you try formatting the card using the phone itself?

I don't have that phone but would expect there to be something in Settings like Storage, for example, that would allow you to do so.

I had the same issue on my GS3, filenames would become messed up and mp3's would show as zero size.

I fixed my problem by formatting the card as fat32 in my computer, but it sounds like you've already tried that.

Did you do a full format or quick? Have you run any tests on the card?

Yes several times I formatted it to Fat32 and i tested it with a program which filled the card completely 64gb and then read back all the data, the test was succesfull. I dont think kingston would have made a fake card. Right now im testing the card with my action cam, im shooting a 64gb video

Today I checked my 64 gb videos that I took with my action cam, they were all corrupted, I guess I have a hacked micro sd, is there any tool that I can check whether its fake or not?

Right now I'm running the H2test2

If you're looking for a good deal on MicroSD cards check slickdeals.net or dealnews.com and set an alert. You'll get user generated reviews through SD as well letting you know if it's legit. Don't trust third parties, ebay or Amazon Market sellers. I'd been burned once- lesson learned. SD and dealnews both have apps on PLAY.

i had this issue with a 32G sandisk bought from bestbuy and after it got toasted i have it replaced, issue was gone. i probably just got a bad one out of many.
