Help SD Card Help!

I'm switching from a Palm Pre to the Optimus V this week!

I'm a heavy email, music and video person...LOVE apps. So, what kind of microSD card should I start with? 2GB sounds like a joke. I know I can get up to 32gb...but it needs to be SDHC...right? What do I need to get? What do I really need??

Micro SDHC. The sweet spot right now is 16GB, 32GB are still costly. Class 10 is the fastest, class 2 is the slowest. The speed can make a small difference in how quickly pictures show up in the gallery, but it won't make a earth shattering difference in the overall speed of the phone.

Thanks for the info, pastafarian :) Do u know if it makes any difference in playing video clips, ie framerates?

The class, from what I've read, mainly effects write speed. Video play back would be more controlled by processor.

Just FYI- If you are rooted, you can take advantage of the higher class speeds with a simple shell script you run at bootup. The default read_ahead value is set to 128kb, you can increase it to 2048 and significantly increase your read/write speeds, which will increase overall system performance.

For those who don't know about scripting values, there are apps in the market that will do it for you automatically.

Example of real world preformance increase, AngryBirds is ready to play in 10 seconds, before it took 30-40 seconds to completely load up. I do have other tweaks that help as well, search for android tweaks (or tweeks) and look for those posted by fransicofranco or mmarz.
