The class rating is the speed at which data is transferred to the card. The higher the class number, the faster the card.

The Fascinate uses a Class 2 card stock. When reading/writing 32GB worth of data, you'll want the fastest card possible.

Ok so its not a question of if the phone can handle it then...just get the fastest card correct?
The phone can and does handle class 10 thats no problem at all. Normally I'd say get the best value. The 32gb class 2 has been around $80 for a few months now. Whereas the class 10 was $149 until the last week when the price dropped big time. So $80 class 2 vs $149 class 10 thats a debate. But $80 class 2 vs $80 class 10 is no debate

What is the benefit of getting a higher class SD Card? Will there be actual "noticeable" improvement?
Faster read and writes times which means your transfer rate will be higher when putting something on or off the sdcard. Also a reduced amount of time between taking pics, less stutter from camcorder. Although the stock class two is good enough for 720p, with 1080p which we cannot do anyway you'd need higher class spec.
