Help SD Card Reader Problem?!?

OK,

So I bought a new 8GB HC SD Card for my Wife and it worked fine. I was in the middle of doing a backup with titanium for her so I can flash the new CM7. During the backup the phone hard locked. I pulled the battery and rebooted and now the SD card won't show up in CM7 or CWM. If I put the same SD Card in my Triumph it reads just fine. I did wipe cache / dalvik and reset permissions in CWM but still no dice, and tried multiple known good SD cards. I was going to do a factory wipe, but if I do her phone will be useless with out the SD card. I won't even be able to install gapps or her apps and that will mean an unhappy Wifey which means pain for me, and lots of it!

Anything else I can try?

I'd say pop it in to a windows machine and scan the disk, I had a similar issue, and that fixed the problem, along with zeroing out all the files that were in folders. Good thing it was my dev phone. :D But, since it is new there shouldn't be much on it.

Other than that, factory reset it is.

I will try that the problem is now her old 2GB card doesn't work either

I got that part I just hit the wrong button before I finished. :D

So, if you're feeling froggy dd partition 7 /system, from your working phone and restore it back on hers, as long as it is the same OS, cause the only thing stopping that from working would be the kernel. Also partition 5 is the kernel so if that was the culprit you could do the same for that.

Did a full wipe and no SD card showing up in CWM or CM7 after multiple reboot. Going to call VM and get a replacement. Thank God I can still setup her goolge account as the Market app just showed up.

The only other thing that I can think of that might possibly work, is just taking the battery out for a while. I am just wrapping my head around how stranded you must feel, can't download with the phone, can't flash, backup or restore, can't do much of anything. That is why I suggested dd, cause then the computer is the storage. Good luck.

Edit: you might just be able to hook up the phone and copy the system files cause that partition is usable in Ubuntu.

Yeah it's a trip at least I have CM7 on there and helped setup my Wife's apps. Problem is a handful of them need the SD Card to work. At least it will work till the replacement comes.
