sd card ringtones

hi all. i put loads music on my sd card, the phone found them no problem. i set 3 folders for alarm,notification and ringtone, but when i go through the phone sound setting to change them, it doesnt come up on the list , just the preset/preloaded tones. what am i doing wrong? do the folders need to be put in a certain place, or what. thanks guys.

This works for me:

/sdcard/media/mp3/ringtones
/sdcard/media/mp3/alarms
/sdcard/media/mp3/notifications
/sdcard/media/mp3/music

I don't think the location matters, only the name. I guess the format of the files could be causing a problem too.

hi. ive just tried what you said, still no luck. weird. they show on the unknown section on the music player, just not under options for alarms etc. any ideas please....

Put an "s" at the end of the folder names so it is alarms and not alarm. Also make sure they are all lowercase.

I think you're correct, because

/sdcard/audio/ringtones
/sdcard/audio/alarms
/sdcard/audio/notifications

works fine for me.
