Help SD EXT/ Can't install ROM

imola20ae

Newbie
Ive been looking around, however I can't seem to nail the problem. I'm running Myns RLS4 trying to update to RLS5 and when I flash via ROM manager I get that the file is bad and can't open /mnt/sd card or something to that effect.
I also get skipping SD-ext when I do a restore or backup in Clockwork.

I installed RLS4 about a week ago and it was smooth sailing.

So WTF gives now??????

any help is greatly appreciated, thanks in advance

Maybe it's a bad download. Have you tried downloading the zip directly, copying it to your sd card, booting into recovery, wiping data/cache/dalvik, and flashing it? Are you familiar with that method? I can, of course, give you better details if you've never done it before.

As for skipping SD-ext, have you partitioned your sdcard? If not, there's nothing to worry about. If you don't have an ext partition on the card, it will skip it (since there's nothing to restore) and give that message.

I heard some people were getting bad downloads, but were fine with this:

Multiupload.com - upload your files to multiple file hosting sites!

Try flashing that instead and see if it works. As for partitioning the sdcard, is that something you want to do? You don't need to do it. It's useful for a2sd, and that's about it. But yes, it will wipe your sdcard. Copy the entire contents to your pc first, partition the card, then copy everything back.

Sounds good. thanks I just got done moving everything over (34 minutes). I would much rather try another method that redo the sd card.

Thanks
