Help SDK Help??

OK, I think I'm going to unlock the bootloader and run Voodoo.. I downloaded and installed 2.3 SDK, 2.3.3 and the USB drivers V.4. I put the Nexus in recovery mode, plug in the USB, XP wants to install the drivers, I try to install the drivers that I downloaded (Program Files, Android, google usb driver) and XP won't load them.
I must be doing something wrong... There's How To's all over the net on unlocking but nothing on troubleshooting SDK drivers..
Has anyone had and fixed this problem??

I had trouble with the drivers until I downloaded them from pdanet. Once I installed those drivers it recognized my phone as an adb device and was able to pull up a serial number. Although I'm on windows 7.

Also did you manually install the driver? And select the location of the driver in the Android sdk?

Yeah, I manually tried to install it. I directed it to the drivers folder, the OK button lit, clicked it but says it couldn't load the driver.. Tried a few times.. same thing.
Android 1.0 shows in the devices with a ?, so I know it's connected but it don't like the driver.

So you are just directing it to the folder? If I remember correctly your supposed to select the actual driver.

OK, before I keep working on this... When I do a fastboot unlock what does it erase? Pics, , music, contacts, apps???? I can easily back up the sd but do I have to reload all my apps again? Move the contacts to the SIM?
Thanks

It will delete everything apps, sd card, etc. I recommend using mybackup pro for backing up apps, also there is no reason to back up contacts. They are automatically synced to your google account so as soon as you login your good to go.

So you will have to reload all of your apps unless you use mybackup pro. And as long as you save your sd card stuff your pictures and music will be backed up.

Mybackup pro can also back up system settings, messages, emails, and all of the application data.
