Security Apps?

If you use a browser for Web searching, I think it can protect you phone to have a security app.
It depends too how You surf on the web (no risk/ high risk etc...)

Well I rely primarily on the "careful what you install" approach. I do actually have Avast! installed, but primarily for the phone location features. I do let it run an install-time scan, because that only takes a few seconds as a one-off, but don't otherwise run real-time scanning. I also have a copy of MalwareBytes installed, in case I want to run a manual scan (my experience of PC antivirus is that I get more false positives than real results, and hence like to have a couple of opinions available).

But AV vendors do have a habit of issuing "scare" reports whose purpose is to drive business, so I'm always a bit wary of those. I've found that a bit of care with what I install has sufficed so far.

I'm a fairly high risker myself lol but I do use common sense along with the known risk taking. I mean even a rooting app e'll warn U, but I think that's Googles way of scaring U into they're lock down. Hmmmm Comodo huh? well I'll do a lil more digging & make a decision. & just to clear the air security having SU rights doesn't necessarily mean better/safer correct?

My bad in the description of the app it makes it sound like a 5.0 only app hmmmmm but OK I'm running the xperion rom & freedom kernel wich is 4.1.2 jb. I'm gonna give X-privacy a go!

A lot of Xposed modules are now working with LP. Makes me wish I was rooted (need to get hold of a pc)
On the subject of security, I just ran malwarebytes for the 1st time and the only two hits it gave were one-click root apps that I stupidly tried.
Would they have been flagged because they're not from Play or because of their potential risk?

Fascinating thks & sorry 4 any mixups bud and 4 U & Earlymon who really have helped me a lot. I value U gentelmans opinion or I wouldn't ask. Sorry bout the wise crack on about it pic I mean noooooo disrespect what so ever really. I'm gonna find and go over what I stated when I was asking about Freedom kernel wich correct me if I'm wrong is GameTheorys nice lil app so should ask ;him I suppose a? but ya I think U & Earlymon took me all wrong.

Lol ya god 4 bid I misspell his name wrong, lol but naw Earlymon got onto me just a tad 4 a misunderstanding no biggie, wow is Android Forums the new Facebook lol juuuuuus joshin. But ya its called Freedom kernel its built byGametheory 4 the LG F6 D500 & 505. U just download it after U flash his Xperion rom which is tight by the way the guys a damn genius I swear.

Check it out its on playstore. nt to use I mean just to catch a visual of its icon and info if you would like

U mean from playstore? Ur nt gnna find app that roots ur device on playstore Google it phone specs and find out what kind of root and recovery methods ur device needs to make root possible 4 U. U need any help just hit me back. I'm no dev or administrator but I'm tech savy & have been through it all pretty much when it comes root.

& ya no doubt U can used Xposed mod root only, U dnt haaaaaave 2 be running a custom rom. root opens the door allowing access to deeper settings and more control over youre device it opens the door 4 custom roms and kernels that can tweak youre device in various ways, Google up on it, but ya just throwin that in here that being rooted alone allows you 2 be able 2 use Xposed mod. Just be careful and read all there is to read inside xposed's app's and even then theres nooooooooo garenty tht ur device is going to agree with every & any app inside xposed, so if u have no custom recovery nore kne how to use it than you're gonna bootloop if a setting doesn't gell period, IF a setting doesn't agree after rebooting, however there is a flashable zip that comes with xposed; in which disables that no good setting so one can undo the bootloop/softbrick.

Hadrons the man though knws his shit I tell ya, but ya harmless and hillarious. Sorry Hadron we all respect and appreciate U man. Jessie's Girl!!!

OK back 2 business, back 2 business. Ya security wow hmmmmmm I like the comment one gent on here made that commen sense is the best Antivirus, hoooooooowever I myself use security 4 browsing and locking access 2 a few apps that one if they knew how could reak havic on my phone if accessed lol

I installed my first antivirus app on my first android which was Lookout, then tried a few others & finally deciding that I was/am parcial 2 Avast. Anywhon at the time avast warned me about things that were risky and what a few roague apps were up to that Lookout didn't that was like 2013. But ya commen sense and we'll researched and comprehension of knw how is the best security there is.

Nah not from Play lol obviously and ive rooted/modded a few photos myself buy have no access to a pc right now so went for kingo 4.1 apk which worked. I'd never alter system files or anything (Xposed) without a custom recovery though. Just using root for some root apps until I get my bootloader unlocked.

I use lookout too but only for the antitheft options like it emailing location when the phone is Turned off.
These features were supposed to become premium in may but I'm still getting them for free :D

No I myself don't use Lookout, I use Avast. When I first ran Avast after uninstalling Lookout Avast seamed 2 pickup and display a few potential security issues that LookOut didnt, Lookout seams like they may have gotten it 2geather a lil bit better since, buy ya as 4 me I'm just partial 2 Avast.

Personally I don't even use the antivirus features on lookout. I don't feel a need for them.
As i said I just use it for the stolen phone features :thumbsupdroid:
